awesome comparison! did one over the weekend. 6266 gen1 on 29lbs. 702/439 in 4th. ap1 motor with just arp studs. cant wait to finish my new motor so I can crank mine up. ended up getting my hands on a sleeved block and going with a 2.4 setup and a 6766. also considering switching to an infinity like yours

btw. how is the response difference on the street. that 800+rpm difference bother you at all? my 6266 vband .82 was similar to your newer powerband. didn't bother me too much. the older graph looks super fun though. lol

Seems it's mostly the bigger exhaust side that's costing me some revs in spool, mostly I miss the 1.0 c/r loss from the stock motor to the sleeved motor using the flat top CP's. 11.0 c/r and E85 had more of a bang for the buck it seems. The 2.4 and a 67 should scream. Infinity gets an A+ from me.

It's kind of a toss up, I do miss the 6th gear "passing power" from having full boost at 4600-4700 rpm. Best I could describe it, is the 5862 was a 4500rpm+ turbo setup, but died after 8k on higher boost, where as the 6467 is a 5500+ turbo and breaths to my 9300 rpm limiter. The Mickey Thompson tire is hooking 32-33lbs in 3rd, and from the looks of the logs, I'm no where near my traction limit, so I could probably go all in 36-38lbs in 3rd gear.

I am seeing boost taper to 36lbs or so from my 40psi target in 4th and up, having to work harder to keep the WG shut now (should probably move up to a stiffer spring from the 3psi one that's in it to help out, but oh well). I wanted a 600hp S2K when I started, now I've got a ~800hp daily driven S2K with a broken diff. Knocked a few teeth off the ring or pinion doing a drag launch the other day, lol.

lol nice. my car ended up the same. started as a 450-500hp pump gas car to now trying to shoot for 950hp. it never ends.

I feel your pain with the loss of compression. the last motor I just had was a 9.5:1 motor and I hated it compared to the response of the stock motor. took a lot more boost to make comparable numbers and felt like a dog out of boost. I luckily haven't broken any driveline parts, but ive also been keeping things in the 50+mph range. I was laying lown 700ish in 3rd and 800+ in 4-6. don't ask why I felt I needed more..lol

10.0:1 hasn't been as bad as expected, I really don't like doing anything less than 11.0:1 for E85, but oh well. 2nd gear is hooking up something like ~650, and with a good burn out probably more on this tire. I do a lot of 1/2/3 pulls... the one time I dared to do a drag launch, tires won, diff lost. Hahaha

im in the same boat with the compression. I got the last motor on a steal so I couldn't complain. new motor will be in the 10.8-11:1 range with the bigger crank and new valves etc. im sure with the trq of this 2.4 im going to start busting things up. already fabbing up an 8.8 in a spare rear subframe I have and looking into transmission options. would love to be able to take the car to the track once its all done and not worry about calling triple A for a tow home.

The 8.8 rear end is in. A drag launch on my MT radials accelerated this install. I got a weird rotational churning noise from the rear end on decel out of gear (from say 60mph coasting down) that slowed down as the vehicle slowed down.

Apparently the passenger abs sensor got tweaked and my diagnostic tools are saying there's a short on it now, so not taking the car home from the shop until Monday or so (when the new sensor arrives).

The HKS 3" exhaust has the big resonator that doesn't clear the diff. Cutting that crap out and welding a piece of straight pipe in instead.

I was really surprised when I took the stock diff out and took it apart... nothing was broken. Only thing odd we noticed was when turning the pinion by hand it would bind and I'd have to force it to turn further (this was before we took it apart). Tore it all down, all the way to everything out of the LSD. Nothing visibly wrong. Either I tweaked the diff cause, or something in the LSD? No more noise on decel with the new 8.8 rear, it's actually pretty silent.

Looking good! What's your opinion on the full blown diff kit vs CNC kit? Wondering because I already have a cobra diff but it needs to be rebuild still. Their is a local guy to me runing a 6766 with 700hp and went threw 4 ap1 transmissions all broke 2nd or 3rd gear. This makes me really nervous about about uping the boost with oem trans.

The trans is next I'm sure, lol.

The full blown kit works and fits great. One of the mechs at the shop is really good with the ford rear ends, this thing was rebuilt and cleaned up from a used unit with a 4.1 final and turned out amazing.
