Default Vtec wire and coil harness melting

Noticed last night that my vtec plug and coil harness were starting to melt. Wanted to see how the rest of you are protecting your wires with forward facing twin scroll set-up or if anyone had any insight on how I can protect these wires?

Dei makes heat tape. That's what I used. Works good.

Going to try and look for the DEI stuff after work today. I put some liquid tape to cover the exposed wire and then wrapped the wires with 3M vinyl electrical tape.

Is this the stuff you are referring to:

I used dei fire sleeve, I had to depin the connectors to slide the sleeve over cut to size and reinstall connector housings. Mine was starting to melt like yours and that took care of it.

Well, I went back to wrap up the wires and I barely touched them and 2 wires fell apart. Now I'll have to rip off the turbo and manifold and solder the wires back together.

On a side note, I was wondering why this just happened now? I've been driving the car for a while and this happened within the last week and I came up with a conclusion. The only change that I've done to the car is I've added a Mishimoto cooling plate over the weekend. I think the lack of circulation around the engine bay is what did me in.

Let this will be a lesson that someone else doesn't have to repeat.

I had my workshop make a protective plate to cover it
The plate is mounted to the side of the dump pipe
