Default Wastegate cracks at idle? is this right

When the car is idling is the wastegate supposed to be cracked a little bit and sound like an exhaust leak? or is that only at WOT?

What does "cracked a little bit" mean?

- The WG itself should be quiet under all circumstances.
- The WG should be closed at idle if there is a spring inside it.

no, it should not be open at idle at all. it takes pressure to open it. and since you are in vac, thats not possible. so either the gasket gave up or the wg bolts came loose.

Doh! Yes if you have the dumptube to atmosphere and the valveseat is gone, it will sound like an exhaustleak. Spank your friend pls.
