I cant tell you from experience water alone does WONDERS for detonation suppression.
Does it lower your afr at all? I would think not but I havent got my kit going yet to experiment. My gaol is to lower my air fuel ratio as much as possible so I can run more boost, basically using it as a fueling source with the other added bennifits. I have a feeling I will need to run more meth ratio to lower afr.

water alone should not change afr, just keep iat lower then it was. antyihng more then 10-15% meth will start to change afr lower as meth is combustible, therefore fuel if you run aem ems and have o2FB on then to some extent it will be trimmed out. but ultimately, i will run one map without meth, and another map with 50/50 meth in the long run, and have aem key off the meth system and switch maps on the fly. kinda like a nitrous map on aem ems.

but for now, just water. cantr wait to see what intake temps do tomorrow

I am very curious as to see whats going to happen with just water and then the 10-15% meth whether you have to lean your afr out or richen it or if its possible with out getting tune since I'm still only on the comptech fpr.

I'm interested in knowing this as well.

I want to slap on the 12psi pulley and go get tuned sometime soon..but I don't want to have to retune if I install water injection one day.

Alright so I've been researching this for the last 3 hours and think I have come up with an answer to my questions at the beginning of this thread and a very good idea I'd like to test. So once again to remind everyone what my setup is and what I'm trying to do is...ctsc non ac with 7psi pulley ( soon to arrive ) and I am trying to run cooler iat's, egt's, safer setup etc! Since I don't have management at the current time and won't be upgrading to that and higher boost for awile ( low on funds ) if I run 50/50 water meth this will make my afr's richer which will allow me to run less fuel pressure ( on comptech fpr ) which will be good! Now as far as getting this to the point where I won't pig rich on the bottom end as I am running rich now ( which is safe but not optimum performance ) I am thinking that since I can control when the aem kit starts injecting via a certain psi of boost. I can get the pre vtec/ pre boost afr to stay around 12-12.5 (using the fpr) instead of in the low 11's as they are now. And when boost starts to come on the water/meth injection will start. I'm thinking somewhere right around vtec( vtec lean spike some of you know what I mean ) or when I notice the afr's getting above 12.5-13 or higher afr (will adjust it to not allow this )...thus when the water/meth injection starts it will richen up the afr during vtec/boost and I can interchange the injector nozzles to see which one works best for this setup. Another thought is that since I would be running a richer afr with the water/meth setup I could possibly run higher boost without upgrading the stock injectors?!?!? I'd like some comments/opinions on this idea if I am completely stupid lol or have good idea.

Well use a hair dryer or something!

But really, I'm very interested in how straight water works with this. If the IAT changes drastically and reliability increases, I'm down for getting a 30-3000 myself.
