I cant remember your application, and if its a drag strip car then ok but for the street and just a lil longevity imo thats to much. Im sure you had other factors in your final decision so to each his own.

Did the pistons rock at all with that much? It would be nice to hear your results, review after a few thousand miles as well with details on alloys and if it slaps or not cold.

What cr did u go with?

I will use a borgwarner efr 8374 0.92 twin scroll and be making around 800 Hp if I am lucky to achieve that power. That's why I need to have more clearance. Still assembly the engine. But will then tell here how it goes after doing some miles. My car will be street driven but then I will start to make time attack and need the engine to hold 30m non stop each time I go to the track. Will use meth and water and the cooling mods of usually to keep the oil and water Temps in check. Also for protection I will use baffled sump and accumsump. During the start up I will discharge the oil on the engine and same time start the engine so it will start already with oil pressure to avoid wear and during the race to protect from oil surge.

The clearance I think is enough, some builders says that is OK, others even think I should go 0.005 and don't have problems.

I went with 9.0 to 1

And f22c engine. More torque more fun.

At that compression value i wouldnt think you would need the meth/water.

Im guessing you went with the higher expansion alloy?

I understand the reasoning and most of all experience that gets tossed around for high hp builds. Its in my opinion going higher gives the machinist higher margins of safety to mitigate blame because sooner rather then later you will most likely see other symptoms of larger p2w clearances and its disadvantages and not just total failure (if it were to happen and put blame on them). I would also think there is a sweet spot of clearance that allows the crown to protect your rings and lands. Higher clearances give way to more punishment to the rings directly and they will see more of the punishment/pressure/debris etc. In addition lowering the compression just one point almost doubles negatively in the total energy/heat its able to produce so again being a factor in choice of cr and clearance all ties into each other. Not only getting those alloys to expand and "fit form" and not slap But you can trade usually add clearance or tighten it with lower compression. These are just some of my reasons on engine choice internals and building. Not saying anyone is right or wrong, wish you the best of luck and look forward to hear about miles on this build. And review of the snails TS feel with the 9.0:1 cr

honestly up in the air right now about a built 4cyl and #alltheboost or a 4.8l crank in a 4"bore ls3 block and supporting mods to make power up to 8000 rpm redline. Comes out to about 5.5l but NA will make in the 550whp range and just be a really unique exotic feel and sound. 'Meh will see. GL! Either way she should see plenty of miles with good maintenance and checkups.

I went with the higher expansion alloy 2610 instead of 4032. If I was using 4032 alloy it would be tighter.
To be possible to maximize the turbo, I will limit to 2 bar or 32 psi I will have to use water and meth. Pump gas simple can't handle. I don't have e85 here. The max I have is 98 Ron.

The engine will be built loose for handling 800hp. Otherwise it will happen what usually happen to thighter engines.
Of course this engine will not last 100k miles. But if it get 50k miles I would be pleased and just rebuild what I need. It's a trade of I know. Evo engines use 0.005 p2w on built engines and no problem at all. Sometimes even more

Would be nice to fit a ls3 in my car. That would be so nice. But is a thing I cannot do for other reasons. And is bloody expensive to bring one engine from usa to Portugal. I guess I have to go live in USA. Would be a paradise for me. Hehehe
