i don't know the exact road by road way to get there since my 1st visit. now its like a salmon swimming up stream for me, i just know how to get there from where i'm at.
seriously though, just type in palomar obervatory on mapquest and it will give you exact directions. you take S6 to get there and at the end of S6 you take a right on the intersection to go to S7 and left takes you to the observatory.
this site should have the address.

How many miles are these roads? They look like lots of fun, but I can't see the videos at school. I don't know how they compare to Mt. Lemmon in Tucson, AZ, which is by far my favorite road. 30 miles with no straightaway longer than a half mile (and only 2-3 long straights at that) and then you have to go back down the mountain. God I miss that road.
This map doesn't do it justice, but here it is for reference:

You can't compare two roads until you have driven them. The Dragon is nationally known... how many of these roads are you talking about that are nationally known? I've never heard of any of them. The thing about the Dragon is that area has something for everyone, if you like high speed corners at high elevations you have the Cherahola Skyway that takes you above the clouds, there is the Dragon which is 318 curves in 11 miles, Hellbender, the Foothills pkwy, and many more. The Dragon is much much more than just the actual "Dragon's Tail" which is why it is so popular.
Palomar is indeed a ton of fun
On the car the downhills are fun... on the bike... Ehh, I dono... steep downhills feel kinda unconfortable on the bike... but that bottom section of S7 is one heck of a ride on a bike, very tight and challenging. On the cars... its quite fun.. the whole thing. On a downhill run, you can easily challenge your brakes... I ran a street pad on my BBK when I went in my Legacy GT and they started to get too hot towards the end of the run...

I found LaTuna Canyon rd in Malibu to be best suited for my driving style and the S. All of the turns are between 12-25 mph (very tight) with very few straights that tke you up to 50-60 mph. Too bad it is so short.
