S2000 goes Shelby
Well I have been criticized before since I was the first guy way back in the day to do white racing stripes on my 91 Eclipse GSX...haha
First off, I gotta give you props for really thinking things out and planning the work instead of just slapping some Walmart special stripes onto the car.
That said, I also have a Yellow s2k and really don't feel race stripes are appropriate on our cars. Everytime I see racing stripes, I imagine muscle cars and the S2000 far from it...haha
I don't like it but it's your car, your money so just do what you like. It's easy to conform but takes confidence to be different. Like another member said, no one will be mistaking your s2000 for another one

Thanks for the comments guys, keep it coming. I appreciate both negative and positive feedback.
One thing I had against them in my mind was the fact that too many ricers or mustangs have them on (and recently alot of trucks). I didn't want to fall in the same category as them so I made sure to keep things true to the original designs from the Cobra (not mustang cobra).
I knew if I did them, the stripes would have to continue past the trunk and wrap the bumper. If I didn't do this, then it would be just another stripe job that stopped at the trunk. Also, I knew I had to make the stripes beefy and leave a narrow gap in the middle. The stripes are 9" wide each and the space is about 1.5" between the two. IMO, it makes the car look wider than it is.
On the list of things to come (other than the hardtop) are black chrome badges and Volk LE37's in Gunmetal. Of course, the wheels are pretty pricey so I probably won't see those anytime soon.
Again, sorry for the crappy pics. I'll post when I get the new ones up.

imho, it's great to hear that you feel unique for doing something that not many people would do. i think knocking down others as if you are above them somehow is, however, a bit humorous. in plain english, you're attempting to imitate a design from an american muscle car by painting stripes onto you japanese roadster. i don't see how this is any different from an american muscle car putting imitation Toyota Altezza/Lexus IS300 taillights on their car. the latter would be considered a ricer, but you are somehow an early innovator?
poor rio yellow.
