I think a Mild stretch, like Sinji's setup and a few others is fine, but the super stretch like the past few VW's posted looks really stupid.

This is the Dumbest most pointless thread ever and should be deleted or locked...
Why??

I started this thread and I don't condone agressively stretched tires. I was just curious to see how the S2000 community felt about the subject compared to some other car communities. The Euro crowd loves it and apparently it's getting really big in the Nissan world too. Again, I don't like it. I was simply curious to see how this community felt.

It's always amazing to hear people criticize other people while their own personal car sits in stock trim and there talking about performance mods. Who cares if people wanna run stretched tires, so be it. Is it something i would do....... no! But do i waste my time throughout my day feeling angered by the simple fact that someone wants their car to look clean and personalized according to their own standards? NO! Certainly not....We're all adults right? This thread isn't worthless, it's the non constrcutive critcism within it that makes it a shitty .....worthless.......thread.

PS. the world would be a boring place if we all had and did the same things as eachother everyday!

So.....

I like big wheels better with the stretched tires...not a fan of the 14" and below wheels.....

but.....

i would say.....

tiny wide wheels w/ stretched tires > tiny horrbile offsets wheels that sit 3 inches inside the fender

just took some pics of the tire stretch on my wheels 17x10 fn01rc with falken 255/40:

new wheel VIP style 18x10 255/35 toyo t1r:

I would say that looks about right. If you do not have some stretch, you will get tire roll over when you take sharp corners and the tire will unseat off the bead. Then your wheel digs into the pavement. You have a good amount of stretch
