I always thought the 'glove compartment' was the one in the dash, on the passenger side. At least that's how we call it in French (Boite a gants = box for gloves).

Maybe this was causing confusion for some people, trying to find the compartment somewhere inside that small compartment in the front... at least that's how I would have thought, after having read the info in this thread...

That actually fits in there? I'm surprised. I thought those were always trunk-mounted. Sweet deal though!
Check out H and A Accessories. They list the 8 disk CD changer in two versions. One that mounts in the trunk and one that mounts in the secret compartment. They only list this on the '04/'05 models. If you go to the listing for the '00/'03 models, they only show a 6 disk changer that mounts in the trunk. The 8 disk unit isn't compatible with the older radio systems.

FWIW!

Hi, i don't know if i have an upgraded system in my 01, but it is definitely a honda 8 stacker and a honda head unit. it is great having the stacker in the secret compartment instead of the boot. extra space for the golf clubs.

cjw, as I recall, the Honda options list only included a 6-CD changer (trunk-mounted) when I bought my car in MY02. I suspect you've had an upgrade. I think a CD changer in the secret comp. is a great idea, except I do like having that space for my papers...

^ Maybe that's why they call it the Secret Compartment.

Check out one of my old threads--> https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.ph...pic=225872&hl=

Some of the responses in that thread were pretty funny also.

I'd say you probably have an upgraded head unit.

In the '00/'03 models with the trunk mounted 6 disk changer, you cycled to the disk you wanted by pushing one of the 6 radio preset buttons. Button one selected disk 1, button 2 selected disk 2, etc. Since there's only 6 preset buttons, you can only access 6 disks. My '01 Odyssey works the same way. I've got the accessory 6 disk changer mounted under the passenger seat.

The '04/'05 models have a slightly different radio head. Preset buttons 5 and 6 are labeled as "Disk -" and "Disk +" respectively so you can toggle through the entire stack and get to disks 7 and 8 in the changer. Something you wouldn't be able to do if you were limited to using just the 6 radio preset buttons.

FWIW!
