Default Any descents gains?

Well I am thinking about buying the K&N intake off a guy for 200 bucks. My questions is will I get any gains at all? I don't really feel like paying 200 bucks for an extra 2hp. I know that if I get an exhaust, intake, and header then you start getting noticeable gains.

It's 230 new. I'd talk him down more. Other than that, You won't get hardly any gains from anything except maybe a test pipe on the exhaust until you get a tune as NA, so don't expect much.

K&N makes a really deep growl, I love the sound. But yea $150-$180 is a better price depending on condition. There wont be any noticeable gains, but you'll love the noise.

And actually intake, header, test pipe and exhaust wont net you any gains either honestly. Gotta get this car tuned to make any differences.

Yeah if I can get the intake for 150 I am gonna pick it up. I have heard how they sound and I love it, but honestly the s2000 stock intake with the cover off sounds pretty damn good. What are the gains like if I just get my car tuned without any mods? I would like to keep my car mostly stock, I have never been the type of person who likes exhausts and turbos.

Stock box with the airbox off will definitely have heat soak.

Not sure how much HP it actually makes but I ran with my friend's CR, he was stock and I only had the K&N; we were neck and neck until we hit V-Tech, after that it was over for him.

Depends what you are tuning with. If you get a standalone ecu you can get 10-15whp peak gains if think with some nice midrange as well. Nothing night and day at all though. Full bolt ons and tune you can get up to 20whp gains usually.

I did a back to back dyno with K&n intake and stock air box. Approximately 0.00 HP gain....
