AP2 Bayson R Lip Drooping
I have the AP2 liners on my car, so that doesn't help. Again, the lip doesn't reach the underside of the bumper. That's why the metal extension brackets are required. The only solution I can see it removing the lip, flattening it out again, and reinstalling it with tape.
I have the money to paint it. I'm just not going to waste it. Due to road quality around here, I would have to repaint it every 3 months. I only got the lip to cover damage to the front bumper from hitting a couple of tractor trailer tire treads on a road trip.
So funny but I was logging on to put up almost an identical post. I have had this lip for a couple months now. It started sagging after about 3 weeks and has now broken all of the lower attatchment points. It is now being held on solely by the side attatchment points and I'm worried that one day it will just give way on one of the sides and I'll just run over it on the freeway.
Like you said, it fits perfectly but is so "bendy" that it just locks itself under the stock bumper and keeps pulling down.
I'm off on Tuesday and what I'm going to try is to take it off and re-install it just a bit higher on the sides. I'm hoping that if I can "pull" it tight enough it won't be able to sag below the bumper. I am also going to go ahead and try double sided tape wherever it makes sense to add it.
If that doesn't work I will take a couple zip ties, drill holes in two places on the top side of the lip and put them through the lip and around the bottom portion of the bumper. It won't be the prettiest but I think that will be the best way to not only secure it but keep the ghetto factor lowest.
The only other thing I can think of that would absolutely fix it is to add a splitter to not allow it to sag but I just don't want to have to go that far to fix a seeminly and relatively easy problem.
Please let us know if anyone else has come accross this problem and has found a solution.

i personally would just take it off until you have enough to paint it, double side tape it down.
unpainted lip = no go for me
unpainted lip = no go for me
Get it painted and put some 3G clear on it.
A lip isn't too hard to wrap.
So I took a couple pics of the mess before I tried to fix it so everyone can see what you'll end up with if you don't really attatch this thing. Sorry for the links but I can't get it to work with the /img.

In this one you can see how all the lower brackets just snapped off from the downforce of highway driving. The lip is just hanging below the bumper and it looks generally "ghetto-fabulous."

Then this morning I did what I planned - took it off and put 3M tape everywhere I could. I didn't just do one strip at the corners where you have the most surface area, I did 3 or 4. I also put tape all along the top part of the lip itself and used that to hold it to the bumper. I drilled new holes in the fender liner area that place the lip a bit higher in an attempt to keep the middle part from drooping below the bumper. The zip ties are just temporary until I feel that the tape is really secure. I've even been thinking that if this doesn't hold it in place I may even try getting some splitter support rods, we'll see...

I took it on a couple test drives and it seems to be holding up. Now I'll just give it a few weeks and see how it goes.
Bottom line: when I got the lip and saw the hardware that came with it, I assumed that a lot of 3M wouldn't be necessary (as I'm sure everyone else did as well based on the amount of ppl with this problem). In practice, I think that because of the flexible nature of the construction you need to add a good amount of the tape to hold everything where it needs to be. Although this piece fits perfectly it is able to twist and turn every which way while the car is moving. Secure it down and good luck to everyone else.
