One more question in addition to the last....

would I have to worry about losing power with the 63mm or 70mm HFC if all other components are stock?...

How I look at it, oem cat is the weakest link of the stock exhaust system so replacing that with a HFC should make the entire exhaust system more free flowing even with leaving the other parts stock.

There are plenty of exhausts out there that dont drone bad for your AP2, plus you can get a full Ti system and shed some pounds. I have a single on mine and shed around 30 pounds, but its an AP1 so I could understand not going that route with the different bumper.

Does an HFC really make signifigant power gains vs. a test pipe? You are in the catbird seat with your DBW...the reflash makes some respectable numbers with the I/H/E set up, somewhere in the negihborhood of 230whp?

Yes it does. it performs just shy of the test pipe version of the respective size ( 63 vs 63, etc ).

true, the good HFCs cost more and perform a little under the test pipes, but overall i think they're a better pick for the street. much more legal, no smell, similar light weights and power.

Placed an order for both FIPK intake, T1R 70R-EM Sparrow Dual Exhaust. Also I am going to pick up a 70mm Asura HFC as soon as the next batch is ready.

INTAKE: I drove my friends MY06 with FIPK as its only mod and it felt more responsive, rev'd quicker and sounded amazing when compared to my car MY08.

EXHAUST: As far as the exhaust goes, I figure that I will eventually S/C the car (maybe 4 or 5 years from now) so 70mm would be my best bet as I do not want to buy another exhaust later on. Also those dyno gains and the fact that this exhaust doesn't have any/much drone pushed me over to make purchase.

HFC: I figure the 70mm would mate well and hopefully provide better gains with my 70mm catback then if I would have went with the 63mm.

WOW to think my car only has 2,000 miles and I have already purchased intake, exhaust, and HFC.

good choices. a reflash once everything shows up and your all set till the s/c down the road.

i know how you feel though...i bought my car with 3000 miles on it, and there was an exhaust sitting at my door step before i even picked up the car
