Default ECU RE MAP

HI,

I Just fitted a 63 series K&N FIPK air charger and a 60mm Invidia test pipe to my 2005 S2000. I was wondering if anyone has done anything similar and if you needed to get the ecu re mapped? Also if you have had any issues down the line.

Thanks in advance

Rich

I know that... The OP has an 05 which you can't tune or remap. Unless you get a aftermarket ecu

with a test pipe you can lower vtec to ~4k and gain a good bit of midrange from 4k-6k. However in order to do so in an 05, you will have to buy an aftermarket ECU and get it tuned, which will cost about ~$1500. So the question is, is 25 ft/lb of torque from 4-6k worth $1500 for you?

Thanks guys, from what you're saying the short answer is no unless I want to gain more torque which isn't something I want to get into at the moment

Cheers,

Rich

you will still gain some power the way the car sets. You do need to do a ecu relearn however. Take the negative cable off the battery, wait 10-15 seconds, then reconnect. Start the car and do not touch anything, just let it sit there and idle for 10-15 minutes, turn it off and then go start it again and go have fun.
