Depends on the device & device mount. With the ProClip dock (with passthrough connector) and tilt/swivel it's a bit tight and I have to push a bit to get the door past the dock. With just the Panavise bracket it closes with no problem.

If you hear nothing but positives about anything you should probably check your sources. Everything has pros and cons. Make sure you're aware of the cons that Waze has and whether or not they matter to you. IIRC it does not use locally stored maps which is a con in my book. Obviously, YMMV.

No, I don't say as I have both. iPod lives in the car and I don't have to dock/undock the iPhone unless I need nav, want to listen to Pandora, etc.
