You definitely don't want a gate, have you ever noticed how much the shifter moves around especially when cornering? You'll bend any gate all to hell. You typically see shift gates on cars where the shifter is connected to the tranny via a cable linkage that will dampen most of that movement, not on cars where the shifter comes directly out of the transmission.

yeah, bad driving skills can't be bandaided by a shift gate, don't let anybody drive your car...
