I bump the car into N as I come to a stop. I never leave the car in gear while parked. I don't want the car to lurch forward If I forget it's in gear because my interlock is bypassed. I don't clutch in when starting because my heavier PP is bad for the thrust bearings because all the oil has dripped off. The TB's are splash lubricated. I was taught to stay off of the clutch as much as possible. Anytime I have to hold it down for more than a secound, the car comes out of gear and the clutch is released. It may be overkill, but it's what I do.

FWIW: Every car I've owned has been a stick. I've never had one roll off on me. Propper maintenance of the cables and pads is all you need.

south florida is flat. i always park in N. if my car rolls off its cuase someone smashed into it

i thought if you parked on a hill it was good habit to leave in 1st just in case?

i run upgraded clutch/PP. i dont think stepping down to start the car is gonna kill it. excesive holding it down at stop lights could over time.

very few s2ks have ever had crank walk. i think 3 or 4 in 7+ years of reading this forum. FWIW.

Disable the clutch interlock; all the wear from a heavy duty pressure plate occurs at start-up when the thrust washers aren't oiled.

I had crankwalk. I never, ever hold the clutch at stoplights. Like SgtB, I stay off the clutch as long as possible.

Put it this way; it can't do any harm and most of the critics of the ACT pressure plate suggest disabling the interlock.

Haha, I try to keep off the clutch pedal as much as possible too, but I guess I don't take it as far as you do. What do you do when you park after a hard run through the dragon with hot brakes?

I will leave it in gear then, but I did jump the car after FCPD. I'm a creature of habit. Most of the stops are flat though. I bring chocks to track days.
