You are right about stock timing maps.. my engine would get some detonation even when it was completely stock.

It's not too much of a concern, the stock ecu is good at pulling timing when it senses knock

Finally got all my parts in.. Rings and main bearings were on back order. ReAssembly starts next week.

I'm using the bc3 cams for now, I have been talking with DDTech about doing something custom, but we cant make a profile till the head is done and flowed.

i'v been assigned to ask you a quick question on behalf of my brother since he is out and going to see the mechanic in a bit

his username: Buzz944

if you know him, the car is an s2000 with an F20C engine

this will be an NA setup and maybe a little boost in the future if i convince him to install it again hehe(probably < 350hp)



Pistons are 11.5:1 2618 Alloy CP
Sleeves are custom made locally, cast iron


what is the recommended piston to wall clearance for the setup?


note: i read your build thread. you used Mahle's 4032 alloy with lower thermal expansion at 0.0035-0.0040 on the NA setup. with no piston slap or smoke reported.

our mechanic is suggesting 0.0030. i'm afraid this is too small for the higher expansion of 2618. what are your thoughts?
