we would all like to participate and help out SV and s2ki sponsors
judging by your list on trackhq/street modified, out of those 13 drivers, rob, kel, tim, and daryl can take out all the competition, theoritically. it will just make people not participate in that class since we would all know the end result. not saying the other drivers dont have skill to beat them but so far its predictable.
why even bother with a FI class?? so far seems like a 2-3 people that are FI track, while majority is in your proposed street modified/NA.
it seems affordable because most of the people that u listed already have wing, wheels, tires, some aero, lots of seat time, etc.

rob bw13 2'00.0 street
tim bw13 2'02.8 street 1'58.9 r-comp
kel bw13 2'01.0 street
daryl bw13 2'04 r-comp
so THEORATICALLY, there are some more drivers we should kick them out of the list
colatkitty bw13 2'02.0 street
Jaku bw13 2'00.8 street
dipstick bw13 2'03.x staggered r-comp
and what kinda mentality is that? taking faster drivers out of the game so pp will participate? you don't think there are some pp that wants to come in, improve themself and chase good drivers? is winning more important than improving your driving skills in this type of small competitions?
i'm not making a FI class, i'm doing a head count on SV customers, and group them

A high bench mark will only help improve everyone!

Stock class back then didn't allow any r-comps. We were limited to street tires and small ones at that in an effort to be "cost friendly" by the end of the season 95% of the stock field was gone. Either they dropped out cause they couldn't afford it and the others had moved to 275 ra1s on volks ce's and got bumped to mod.
I'd heard cthree and strike mention it 100 times but it took me seeing it first hand to realize full tread street tires just don't deal well with heat. It would often take 2 sets of $800+ so2s to finish a season if you did the majority of the events.
NT01s have also been cheaper for me to run than street tires, I could burn through a set of street tires in 4-5 track days. The current set of nt01s I'm on has had at least 7 days on them, a handful of autocrosses, driving from Las Vegas to california for events, and I've been daily driving on them quite a bit. They still have enough meat on the for at least 2 track days. The 225/255 nitto setup was very close in price to a set of Star specs or azenis and much cheaper than the re01rs, re070s, and goodyear f1s I have in my garage which are all pretty much the same size, don't last as long, and are slower. Also a second set of stock rims can be had very cheap on this forum and they work just fine and dandy for tracking.
In that time I've had one alignment, been through 1.5 sets of Cobalt pads and rotors (which I tend to change long before I need to).
edit: On one final note I'd really like to see some rules get set soon so I can switch whatever wheels and tires I need to put on, reconfigure my budget a bit, and get my time off set at work since I still have to drive out to CA to come play with you kids
and the new job is horrific about letting sales people take time off right away.

and the new job is horrific about letting sales people take time off right away.here i share mine, my Federal 595RSR last me 7 track days (700+ miles conservative guess since i run a lot more on open test days) from Aug~Nov, and i gave them to Si Tang, he finished 1 track day and still using them, tires have no chunk or anything, some other street tires like AD07, Z1, RE01R all have same capability in terms of grip and wear
that means 1 set can last the entire season if one only goes to s2k challenge, most importantly these are DD tires, i agree NT01 can also last pretty long but then they are not DD tires (i donno how you can last 9 track days + autox + DD for NT01, John should be very proud
or you should be proud of yourself that your driving is a lot smoother
, colatkitty used his nt01 for maybe 6~7 track days and don't DD them)Federal is $132 for 255, $119 for 225, $100 for 215, so roughly $464~$528 a set, cheapest tires to run bw13 2'01

You can buy 4 ap2 rear wheels for $75-50/ea. It's far and away the cheapest way to go faster.
stock class was on street tires. nothing about sizes.

even at that price range, i agree it is still cheapest way for 2nd set of wheels if one has such budget, but it is still money for 3 track days, isn't it?

then essentially you arent doing this to help SV out with NEW participants rather just doing it to keep the SV regulars happy. is this what you're pointing out??
Hard to believe you could have an event like this and be required to have r-comps to be competitive in the lowest class. There should always be a n00b class even it's not well attended. How do you get new people involved?
You might read more than a gay joke and you'd see that was discussed
No one said they're required. There are ways to make a competitive car without them. Or you can just do nothing and run r-comps and be competitive.
