2009 S2000 Challenge Series
First of all
x10000000 to Speedventures for the revival of the S2K Challenge Series!!!
I have a couple inputs into the different classifications. It is parmount for the S2K community to come to a consensus for apples-to-apples classes (idealistically), and thus increasing the competitiveness of our Series.
First, I would like to post both the old S2KGT Challenge and Redline Time Attack classifications for reference:

Redline TA Modified Class Rules:
[QUOTE]Section 3. MODIFIED CLASS
The Modified Class is designed for vehicles that are more heavily modified and/or and have a greater specific power output. Section 1 rules supersede Section 3 rules. The more stringent of any rules limitations will be upheld.
Engine and Drive train
3.1.1 Drive line changes are allowed, meaning, it is LEGAL to change a FWD car to a RWD or AWD drive train. That vehicle would then compete in the drive-wheel division it is now eligible for, by way of changing the configuration. This is legal for MOD and UNL only.

Here are my thoughts:
I strongly believe that from the perspectives of both Speedventures and the S2KI community, in achieving the goal of maximizing the number of contestants that attend in the 2009 S2K Challenge.
The original S2KGT Challenge used a point system, similar to the Miata Spec Series (arguably one of the most apples-to-apples W2W series in the U.S.). However, with the range of S2K mods offered today, combined with the higher % of S2K owners who now actually own those mods, cause the point system to become too generalized and will probably cause controversy of points assigned to each mod.
The Redline TA rules apply to a wider selection of cars and when applied to the S2K Challenge, the result can be unfavorable effects to overall attendance. However, the principle of generalizing 3 distinct categories, without the headache of nit-picking point mods, can still be applied.
I generally agree with Jaku

Won't work, Rylan. Rollbars are mandatory at almost every track out here. Add'lly, there are fewer S owners out here that are willing to track. Heck, there are fewer owners out here period. But yes, after the NASA Mid-A event in August, I actually hinted at trying to get something like this started out here since I have rented the track a couple of times.

With the rollbar requirements and economy being what they are, I will not be in line to host any track events in '09. I just can't put myself out there financially.
