The things I know I would need to have fun on a track:

Cobalt Friction XR2/XR5 pads for a fade free track day, though I can drive around the fade on the updated OEM pads
Good brake fluid
Max front camber/2.0 negative rear
good tires
good oil
MT90
Data acquisition

Since you mentioned RPF1s and coilovers, might I recommend 17x9s all around, 255s, and CR front springs/shocks. I run this setup and I really like it. Plus, it can be had on the cheap.
You think I should be setup 17x9 all around?? I havent installed the wheels yet.. 255 all around as well?? Thanks for the info..

To many variables for me to guess. I have run with the bar full stiff at an autocross with 17x9 949's and 255's all around and it understeered and generally the handling sucked.

On track with the streched 225 and the saner bar on either full soft or in the middle the car works for me. It trail brakes very well, rotates good underthrottle, and can oversteer at will.
yea you are right I definitely found toe affected the handling a lot and I ran a lot more rear camber than front.

but if you have the same size wheels I don't think theres an advantage to not running the same tire all round or a larger stagger like 235/255 and I'd start at soft with the bar and work up

as previously mentioned, your mod list should be:
- Brake pads (whether it's hawk, cobalt, carbotech, etc)...
- solid alignment (whether it's stock or Euro spec)..

that's it. then work towards adding the rest as you progress.

Well its too late for that.. I already purchased wheels and tires.. Im not going on POS tires that are on the car so i wasnt going to buy tires for stock wheels only to need a different size for the new wheels.. Rotors needed cut so i replaced them also.. Lines is never a bad thing to replace.. So on those items im not really overdoing anything..

I am going with front sway only as suggested 1st time out also..

The car has a 50/50 weight distribution and not a ton of engine to overpower the rears, so it can make pretty good use of a square tire setup. Just keep in mind our earlier discussion, you may need to stiffen the front/loosen the rear to take advantage of more front tire.

Mike,
I saw no mention of your car being AP1 vs AP2. Understand that they are diff. cars that are set up diff. from the factory regarding sways, dampers, springs etc. Be sure to pay attention to this when reading the forum. I too am in S.Florida but usually drive with HOD. Would be nice to see more S2000's on the track down here.

Regarding set up:

I have stock: DOT 4 fluid, Carbotech XP10 front/XP8 rear.

I found I was well beyond the wear triangles on the front tires so I got a more aggressive alignment: -1.8 front, -2.5 rear. You will need the SPC camber adjusters if you want to add a lot of neg. camber.

The car really does fantastic stock but I added R compound tires and now want coilovers as the R compounds really out perform the stock suspension.

One more thing to know if you have not learned the hardway, when your gas gauge says about a quarter tank, you need to put fuel in.
