Thanks anorexicpoodle for a clear and concise comparison using real data between the two setups.

A few added considerations:

Moroso Weld In Baffle:

Pro: significantly less expensive

Con: leaves one side open by the pickup without a trap door (I believe)

Notes: make sure you use a welder who has experience with Aluminum, welding dissimilar metals, and just does a really good job.

Canton pan:

Pro: trap doors cover all directions

extra bungs for oil temp and oil return

Con: definitely more expensive

Bought my Canton oil pan as part of the original group purchase.

Noticed a leak last year, but only got to look at it last week on the lift at Billman's. Initially baffled as to where it was leaking from. Finally found a defect in the weld line.

I bought mine as part of the original group buy as well. Last year I pulled it off due to a slow leak. Also looks like I had a bad weld, but my pan looked like it made some contact with the front rubber stop enough to cause an indentation. I don't really blame the pan. I cleaned it and had a friend weld it up. Seems good as new now.

my baffle back weld broke off and i rewelded it

the seam weld started leaking requiring another weld repair and re installation.

lastly the back weld repair which has been repaired for 3 years has begun to leak.....

time to fix the fix. still a great pan
