thanks man that reconfirms some of my thoughts including the smaller and larger track set ups..

how i understand it is with the front bar it plants the back tires so u can get on the gas early. too stiff rear spring and the car wont get optimal traction

ya my ap2 tows out under compression... if i align it to zero tow with a full tank of fuel, as the fuel burns the rear gets lighter and car will tow in slightly

my first alignment was zero rear tow and 1/16 out in front(made the car feel quick on its feet)..

my second track day in the s2k i had almost dead pads in the front , it was fun under breaking into the 'off ramp' at buttonwillow ccw.. i thought the s2k was nuts

how much does the AP2 toe out under compression?

I was under impression that an AP2 would Toe IN under compression
This is a diagram of a AP1 but I would think the AP@ wouldn't be the opposite.

I swear my car Toe'd out when I raised it.

After installing coil overs I highly recommend you set the left and right side spring perches exactly the same until you can get the car corner balanced on a perfectly level surface. Do not change the perches to get the same "finger gap" or ride height. If you do you will be shocked how much your corner weights will be off when you put your car up on scales.

For 1 inch lower than stock ride height here are my KW V3 spring perch settings:

LF 2.725 inches RF 2.725 (measured from ridge below thread to bottom of perch collar)

LR 1.63 RR 1.67 (measured from 1st thread to perch collar)

I only needed 1/2 of a turn of the LR shock to get a perfect corner balance.

S2000 Front Toe Changes: When the S2000 is lowered the steering arms arc upward to the knuckle effectively shortening them and causing toe-in (the main reason you need an alignment when you change ride height). With more compression comes more toe-in. As the suspension extends it will toe-out to the point the steering arm becomes horizontal then add toe-in as it extends beyond that point.

Billy, here's a pic of the S2000 rear with the toe link in front of the rear axle. I'm pretty sure the AP1 gets toe-out under compression in the rear and thus the bump steer kits to settle the rear.

I guess I should have clarified, I was only talking about the rear suspension. I assume the AP2 toes out under compression as well, just not as much hense AP2s can run less toe in for most sporty alignments, atleast that's what I'm thinking.

I'm running the clubsports but it's practically the same shock. Your numbers wont mach mine b/c of the top hats for lowering but last I remember, I'm only lowered about 0.8" from stock height. 1.1-1.2" was too much and I was hitting the bump stops while cornering (even after I cut the bump stops down 1/2". I just put the Miata FSB on the rear of my car last night. I'll soon be upping my spring rates to 700f/650r.

What year(s) Miata FSB fits? How does it compare to the AP1 and AP2 RSBs?

I'm not sure if all the 06+ NC miata front bars fit, but the 06 soft top bar fits and might have less rate than the cars that came with hard tops. Minor mods to the miata bushing brackets and it's practically plug and play. Some other AutoX'rs are using it and like it so I'm giving it a try as suppose to running no bar and high rear spring rates. I got kinda lucky and came across a used one that Flying Miata.com was selling with brackets.

Supposedly the swaybar is around 130-140 lb/in spring rate at the link compare to AP2s in the 350-370 range or the AP1s 400. I was told by a dude that works at Flying Miata that the 06 miata FSB is rated at 240lb/in though when using this calculator http://www.circletrack.com/car_racin.../photo_01.html

I would prefer it being 240 versus 140 actually. Kind of makes sense that it is 240 when looking at it in person. Will be testing it out this Sunday to see how I like it!

KW does not offer revalving on their "street" suspension systems, you would need a competition coilover for them to offer this.

Any revalving done by a different company will no longer be using KW parts, and I haven't been able to locate a source that would do it as of yet. I guess you are in ways "limited" to a certain range of spring rate for the V3, as KW themselves will not revalve your coils.

Tell Joe that Nick Jackson sent you. And yes they use real KW parts. Call him and he'll set you up with whatever you want.
I hate to bump this old thread but has anyone actually got their kws rebuilt here? What was the turn around time and what was done to yours?
