In looking at the shop manual, it appears that the clutch delay valve check ball/spring is removable. I don't have the car here to check it out so does any one know if that is possible?

I assume it also just has the stock o2 sensor. Power to my wideband came loose too from autoxing. We've since fixed that. Could it be possible the o2 sensor also went bad from dumping fuel from running rich? Lastly, 06+ cars have a different O2 sensor from pre-DBW cars so just make sure you didn't mix it up even though it'll plug in correctly.
I have a new map sensor on order and swapping out all relevant parts with a salvaged '08. I have a local event this weekend to test the car out with. Now if I can get those parts to repair my tow vehicle in time!

1) We were requesting to be able to run an aftermarket hardtop of any material. I totally understand if they reject my Mugen or a Spoon top but to even deny provisions for an aftermarket OEM replica doesn't make sense given that no one in their right mind would run with a hardtop and take that weight penalty unless it was raining so they're forcing us to find used OEM hardtops at ridiculous prices (about $3500 nowadays) instead of letting us run more affordable replicas for about $1200. Remember, this is just so we can have a top on if it rains (and we delete our soft tops, which I suspect is the reason why they don't want to allow this so we don't get tempted to remove our soft tops).

2) I requested that we be allowed to drill a holes in our bumper at no larger than 2" to terminate a brake duct (which we are legally allowed to install) on our front fascia to serve no other purpose but to provide air to a brake duct. The S2000 has locations specifically for brake ducts or fog lights but unlike other cars, it's not just a removable cover. You have to actually cut the bumper cover install something like this (design intention, not a factor documented thing since Honda doesn't sell foglights or brake ducts for the S2000). Seriously, we're talking about a 2" hole that goes to a brake duct only. I get it, there's no need for this or any brake duct for that matter. This is my selfish desire to have brake ducts since my car is dual duty track car as well but like I mentioned, it adds no performance advantage for autox so why not allow it? Instead I'm going to just terminate it in my bumper opening so this rule is stupid because it doesn't prevent me from doing what I want (run brake ducts) but instead just make my car look stupid for no reason.

Anyway, it's a moot point. These requests have been turned down and its unlikely to change because they aren't necessary or apparently within the spirit of the rules (because it makes total sense to allow brake ducts to be fitted but not allow you to terminate them in a clean way). I'm just gonna suck it up and accept the rules because at the end of the day these aren't show stoppers. It's just silly that we can't come up agree on simple rule changes that don't take anything away from the class or make things more expensive but we're totally fine pissing off a huge portion of the autox community by completely overhauling stock class.

By the way, I'm almost 100% sure that if I did have brake duct holes and taped over them at a big event, no one would protest me but I want to be legal to the letter of the rules not because (thankfully) my competitors are reasonable people.
I would never protest you for brake ducts, and anyone that does should DIAF. Serves absolutely no benefit in Autox and only adds weight. If I go to BSP next year I will be running brake ducts with the holes taped over over and will be sure to let everyone know about it. I want to have an s2000 track car/dual duty autox and the ducts are a must have if you don't want to crack brake discs.

I agree, I can do it and tape it up and I'm sure no one will protest but it would just be nice to have it part of the rules instead of just relying on a gentleman's agreement.

Anyone have links to diagrams for the MAP, Cam, Crank, Vtec, Idle Control and Fuel Systems wiring/grounding? I'm going through the DTC service bulletins and troubleshooting. Just need to know where to check. I really have a feeling I left out a ground somewhere when I put this car back together.

Hey Nick,

The only thing that irked me about the S2000 was it kept me off the track not having a rollbar. Not sure I'd feel safe in a CR with just the hardtop.

Hearing and reading the tone of people fed up with Stock... ST, SP and SM are sure to grow next year!
