Got the CR tonneau cover today, tossed it on the scale, weighs 10 lbs. I thought it would weigh a little less. The trim pieces I took off weighed 6 lbs so 4 lbs isnt so bad. The seat belt reels I took off were almost 10lbs together. I have yet to remove the ac evaporator, but its only around 5 lbs tops. Either way, breaking the 2500lb mark is going to require running less than a full tank of gas!

Also, what are we and are we not allowed when it comes to the fuel system? After some research with my local parts guy, I found the early AP1 tanks do not have the slosh trey. Can we run a surge tank? Some have swapped over to AP1 fuel setup with return lines. What is involved there? Im trying to find the best way to run less fuel...

A little teaser since everyone else has pretty pics of their cars!

No, not yet. I just started working with a tuner and watching the logs closely. I feel its a sensor that isn't broken but not operating correctly when under load. I'm going to do a valve adjustment over the weekend just for good measure and also on of the troubleshooting tasks from the manual for my issues. I going ahead with the basic parts for the fuel system upgrade amd marking each possible problematic area off. I did swap out manifolds and flash to the STR tune just to rule the Urge manifold out and ended up with the same result. So far we have swapped plugs, coils, injectors, wiring harness, map sensor, sanded all the ground points, swapped manifold to stock, played with tunes, I'm looking for a crank sensor, cam sensor, and knock sensor to test next. The fuel pump, larger injectors and fuel rail/regulator will be here soon as well. Hopefully the issue starts to stand out and become blatantly obvious!

What's the purpose of the slosh tray? I haven't run my car super low on fuel since I went BSP but I remember in STR trim, I used to be able to run my car down to 1 bar and never experienced fuel starve even on the high speed sweepers you typically see at the meadowlands. I may try running low at a regular event to see how she does.

We will be running the next few events on less fuel to see how low we can go without starve. When in star trim we starved at over half on the right conditions

The baffle/slosh tray was intended to prevent fuel starvation. I though all gas tanks were the same, but my parts guy showed me a tank from a '00 that didn't have one. With a different fuel pump setup , I would think this tank would be our best bet for running low fuel.

you know you can just ask me on the fuel stuff
anything under 8 tenths of a tank and i will get fuel starve turning left. under 5 tenths and i will get it turning right also. that is with the factory slosh tray. now with the twin pumps (one mounted on a stick over in the right side of the tank dumping fuel into the surrounding oem pump mount area). And a faster primary pump, and a one way valve or two, seems i can run it pretty low, havent seen how low let...

No surge tanks or any simple solutions. no modifying oem tanks ( would make life easy). no fancy filters. no good holes in the rules i could find to fix fuel starve other then more pumps lol

btw, WTB an ap1 trunk. car needs a minor diet. plus some light weight brakes, but i am out of cash for this year
