Why is it the BSP cars run a staggered wheel/tire setup, when the STR cars seem to trend more towards square? Seems the suspension tuning isn't that far away from one another... Can you be successful on a square setup in BSP?

Ok cool, I'm trying to gauge how much success I'll have running a Rcomp tire on my current wheel setup... I do not think I'll be going to any wider of a wheel (currently 9"), and I'm really more interested in being more competitive locally, maybe regionally... Nationally I'm really just not ready to commit my car to a fully competitive BSP car, but you never know. After reading this forum it seems like I would have to invest heavily into autocross, and I think it might take the joy out of it for me.

Could always just run STR, much less investment. No r comps of course but the cars are still really fast and fun.

I run a testpipe, and an AP1 flywheel in an AP2... The test pipe changes out easy enough, but I'm not dropping my tranny a third time if I can help it. I might be able to find a hi-flow cat and, re-tune and, run locally in STR, but if I'm wining regularly someone eventually might complain. That and, I really want to know how fast I could be on Rcomps.

Word.

R-comps rock. Looking back, I probably should have never wasted my time with STR. BSP seems like a nice stepping stone to SSM... and I guess STR is a nice stepping stone to BSP. It would be nice to see some S2000s in SSM.

Working on it... lots of reliability issues to sort out and weight mods. My car snaps axles like crazy. I'm only down to 2750lbs too. May end up a better track car
