Prepping for BSP
16.1.A All Stock, Street Touring, and Street Prepared category modifications are authorized. Except as noted by these rules and the referenced rules....
13.2.I.1 Roll bars may be added. Roll bars may be welded in. Standard rollover hoops and covers may be removed if the resulting installation meets Appendix C, A. Basic Design Considerations. The total weight of components added must not be less than that of components removed.
From this it would seem that I don't need to put the stock hoops back in, but does that mean the bulkhead needs to go back in?

Where do you see the 370z, I see more M3s in there? I looked back at the "big" event results this year and at least for the NE tour, BSP ran about half a second faster than BS so if you had the mod advantage of STR, add more tire the BS then maybe that makes up for it? At Nationals I don't know. I think even if you put me in "THE" car the have if there is one for BSP, I'd be happy to end up midpack.
I just really want to drive my own car more next year. Codriving was totally fun this year especially with the STR crew but I enjoy driving my own car so much more. Hoosiers is icing on the cake.

sorry I did a ninja edit, typed 370z then went back to edit to 350z.
The northeast this year as far as I can tell has mostly been dominated by Mike Lane it seems, when his car's not breaking (and even when it is breaking), in his 350z. And that blue 350z at the shootout looked very fast, I don't know the owner of that one. And Lee Piccione in his M3, but that hasn't been working. Mike what do you think, how will the s2000 do?
At Dover BSP was 1.5 seconds faster than Eric Kriemelmeyer who won BS. Then again, Nick Barbato beat BSP by 0.5 second at the DC pro.
I guess if you believe the PAX index, on a 60 second course BSP should be 1.1 seconds faster than BS, or 1.7 seconds faster than STR.

Right now, I think Uyeda is the man to beat and he is in an S2000. That said, my car has gotten much faster the past 2-3 events (granted it broke at 2 of the last 3). We learned a lot from the blue Z in truth. Both of us walked away thinking that my car was still a bit faster (and DJ, my co-driver has more seat time now in the blue car). That said, if we can get my car to have the same turn-in as that car, we are onto something. IMO, we don't give up much if anything in the sweepers to an S2k, but we can't do the heavy and/or narrow transition stuff as quickly. That said, we get out of the corners better. It's a toss up. Lee is the wildcard in his M3. It has been broken most of the year, and he doesn't much seat time this year in it. It is kind of blend of the S2000 and the Z. He won't be doing another national event in it until Nationals (his wife is due during the toledo event....but Jason H will be there in his car (or so we all hope)).
Eric K is no slouch in BS. His raw times were right there with Nick on day 1 at NE Divs. Truth be told, I think the course at Dover was better suited to his GXP too. Don was 1.5s faster on Sat and 2s faster on Sun in the blue Z. I didn't drive well at NE divs and the car was poo at the pro, but BS had me at both events. Dixie was the first event on the car in BSP trim, and Jadrice beat me there.
The blue Z, Mike Bright, won't be at Nationals this year. Pretty sure I will be the only Z in attendance. My co-driver won't be there either, he will be continuing to whip ass and take names in GTS2 at the Nasa Championships.

I'm going over the SP rules with a fine tooth comb and it seems I'm going to need to roll back quite a few mods to my car legal. May or may not be worth all the effort. Makes me just want to get a Mini and putts around in HS to learn a thing or two about momentum driving.
