I've got probably 300 runs on my cusco rs 1.5way without a hick-up. Car makes 265wtq also...

Well in this case it doesn't seem like the diff itself failed, just the pinion which i guess must be our weak point. I better make sure I bring a spare diff to our events.

I know Jason had a spare diff with him at Nats...


As long as you bring a spare, it will never break. Don't bring one and it will explode on the first run..

When i chatted with Jason he had told me that he had a ring gear failure shortly before nationals and had to replace the whole diff

Rules are rules ... and no one here should ever advocate breaking them. There are other methods like writing letters to allow for better diffs promoting reliability and not performance.

I agree, follow the rules but people will do it, just like the rumors of a few people in STR doing it. Maybe people should write letters asking for modifications to make it stronger without serving any other purpose as Marc said. I have no dog in this fight because I don't have a BSP prepped car.

CCWs ordered. Went with Uyeda's specs and I'm just going to space it out as needed. 18x11 CCW Classic Race with 8.5" backspacing bored hubcentric to fronts.
