Default Rear Wheel Studs

Can anyone tell me how hard the installation of wheel studs on the rear of the S is? I have heard that the install is not as easy as the front, but wanted some input. I figured this forum is where most people that have extended wheels studs hang out.

You need to remove the hub.

I got that, which I had to do for the fronts. However, I heard that the bearing is worse to deal with on the rears. Anyone comment?

Maybe best to replace entire hub and bearing. The studs are tricky to press in correctly, which can lead to fitment/balance issues that'll have you replacing the hub and bearing anyway.

Im looking to replace the rears with extended studs, so I cant just replace the hub and bearing. I have heard that Ill need to replace the rear bearings in the hub, but then again, I was told I would have to in the front and didnt need to. Just hoping someone has done it before that can help.

you have to remove the entire knuckle.....and have the stock wheel bearing pressed out at a machine shop(its held in with 2,000 lbs pressure)....and then have a brand new wheel bearing pressed back in after the machinist will press in the longer studs and reasemble the hub onto the knuckle.....there is no other way....pressing out the wheel bearing ruins the race on it....that is why it has to be replaced with a brand new one.....its a pricey job and not that easy....GOOD LUCK, BILL

Thanks Bill. Any idea on the cost of two new bearings? Thanks!

I picked both front up for $150...the rear is a tad more expensive because its a bigger bearing.......machine shop labor was $90 for both front.
