The Gendron bar adds lots of weight, and the car still has the stock exhaust and battery. Well, I wouldn't feel too bad. Annie's car is 2600lbs with 1/4 tank of gas. Not a realistic weight for the car at a National event. Add another 30-40lbs for fuel weight to bring it up to 3/4 tank... and she's only 20lbs lighter than my 05'. Granted she has stock seats... but I only have one sparco seat in my car (Steel Sprint 5)... and I swear that with the bracket, it weighs more than stock.

Regardless, I'd take a 30-40lb weight dis-advantage any day in order to keep my soft top.

The CR is no doubt the car to have for BS... but for STR... doesn't really matter as much.

Trunk lid (has a bunch of bracing for the wing, and wiring is routed differently)
You legally could run without the front splitter and rear wing, but would need the trunk lid
Top cover lid (I think you could run with the soft top, and no one would care, but legally you would need to remove it)
My understanding was that the chassis side wiring harnesses were different too.

For the spring rates: I daily drive on 800F/600R, with the regular Gendron hollow bar on full stiff. It is fairly livable. FWIW, I didn't notice a huge difference between DD'ing 650F/600R and 800F/600R. Once the car is that stiff, potholes are painful, and bumps just respond more quickly. My fiance still rides in the car without complaining, so it can't be that bad.

Again I will claim that the lowness (12.5" hub center to metal fender edge) of the rear has helped tame it for an AP1 as the car now toe's in on turn in as opposed to out.
Hey Rob,

The car toeing OUT initially from stock ride height, is that a theory of yours based on studying the suspension, or did you actually measure the toe change while swinging the suspension thru it's range? I just ask becuase a while ago I saw a thread where someone put the AP1 on a rack, then with the shock/spring out they measured the toe change and plotted it out. If I remember correctly, it wasn't linear, but I do believe the suspension never toed OUT when compressed, and only toed in. If you have some numbers, care to tell us what you found?
James,
No numbers as you request. When initially lowering my car the toe measurement indicated more toe out as a result. Anecdotally Mike indicated the same and also from reading over the years that's what I have heard.

I sure would love to see a plot of the curve though. Maybe Jake (NMRADO) will do it some day. My search has turned up nothing so far.

As for Annie's CR, Not too surprising since our CR "delete" consistently weighs in at 2690+- on the SCCA's scales in full BS trim with a absolute full tank of gas. With the heavier AP2v1 wheels, it was 2699 at Dixie. I believe the tail is much more stable with a full tank of gas. Make sure your measuring these cars on the same scales, same day. Readings can vary quite a bit as I experienced by weighing my CR for those curious minds during the first year I had it.

Mike ... Again, any S2000 can get it done in B-Stock. To say differently is only selling yourself short. This has been proven be various drivers. Just last weekend, Jadrice jumped in a medium prepped AP1 and matched his times in the CR.

Maybe 100lbs is just within the range of "driver noise?" In my "opinion" the CR "seems" like it would be the over-dog However, you'd definitely know better than me. I'll take you're word for it.

Regardless, I'm blown away that a stock CR delete weighs in at under 2700lbs with a FULL tank... wow. Makes me re-think how light a CR could actually get. I'm going to have to crunch some #'s...

Keep in mind our CR "delete" has the following changes included in that 2690(+-)lb weight (Based on SCCA's portable scales)...

1.375" Gendron Hollow FSB (very heavy, not sure about weight)
Corey's DIY exhaust mod (chopped at rear axel) saves approx 35lbs
Kosei Front wheels (14lbs each)
TR F-3 Rear Wheels (17lbs each)
275 A6s square (24lbs each)
TC Kilne (Koni 8242) Shocks (Slightly heavier than OEM and Koni 8042s)

What kind of spring rates are most of you guys running? Are you daily driving the car with said rates?
750F/650R and yes I do daily drive them. On a side note for those of you that daily drive with Motons what are your comfort settings for your shocks? Right now it seems pretty good with compression full soft and rebound 3 clicks all around.
I really don't have comfort settings, I find that even on the race settings the car rides very well and I like to drive it that way.
800f/600r spring rates, shock settings at the moment are Front Reb: 4 Comp: 5 / Rear Reb: 4 Comp: 2, Saner front bar on full stiff. Alignment is front 0 toe -2.6 camber rear is 1/4 toe in and -2.6 rear camber.

This is still my first RWD car and double adjustable shocks so everything is a learning process. (previous and first autox car was a MKV GTI on AST 4100s) I am debating going to -2.8 camber in the front to help with some slow-mid speed push, but at higher speeds the lift off oversteer is more then I would prefer. Does anyone have some suggestions about which shock adjustment would help the most for this. Exit acceleration and grip is good. (I am think softening rear rebound might be it)

Also in a rwd platform is there any disadvantage to more front camber or is it always better up until the point to where you are not even close to using the outside edge of the tire? In the GTI front camber was always a trade off between mid corner grip and exit grip because of the whole open diff fwd mess.

850R/750R and daily driven.

Moton Clubsports with compression set to 3F/3R, rebound set to 4F/4R (all from memory). I don't adjust compression or rebound getting on and off the track, but I can say adjusting compression fom 4F/4R to 3F/3R made a big difference in comfort.

yup, soften your rear rebound. This cured my low speed issues.
