A Stock S2000 Winner Gary Thompson. 107.231 (which would have placed him 3rd in Super Stock).
G Stock Integra Type R winner David Fauth 112.948
Holy Crap!!! 5+ seconds in a 1 minute race. I would have to guess this course had some higher speed stuff.?
[women bashing]Top Womens A Stock - S2000 Rita Wilsey 110.782 (top 10 men in A stock beat that time). [/women bashing]
Fastest time posted in GRM is 88.001 in a '95 Phantom Extreme R2000. (is that like a F1 car??)

While waiting for Annie to flame you, you could note that ASL ran first heat at 8 am, with cold surface and when the line hasn't been cleaned up and rubber coated yet. AS ran in the afternoon. This is not insignificant.
Also one of the "top ten men" is in fact a woman.

The tight, twisty nature of SoloII courses really favors RWD. You can use the throttle to rotate the car, while in FWD you have to wait until the car rotates to get on the throttle. The reason Type-R's are closer on the open track, is that the higher speed corners take this factor out of the equation, and the added stability of FWD adds confidence. But the S2000 is a faster car when driven right, which Mr. Thomason and Ms. Wilsey BOTH did.
And the Phantom is not an F1 car, it's a purpose built car with a rotax snowmobile engine and a huge wing... built with only autocrossing in mind:
Absolutely amazing to watch.

This kind of car is why you guys amaze me getting FTD. Getting within 10 seconds of these guys it tough enough. An even in Pax, Bill Gendron (made this car and last years Nat'l champ in BMod) and Bill Goodale (that's his car again last years National Champ) - though both didn't have a good year in Topeka - know what they're doing.
