All sorts of chassis stiffening is allowed, as is an aftermarket clutch, and some expensive brake modifications. I don't consider any of those things "stock" :-)

Having more money to spend will always be an advantage, no matter how hard anyone tries to legislate it. As it is, autocrossing is as low-budget as production-car-based automobile racing gets.

Seriously, I wasn't planning on jumping into that pool until I make the jump to race tires, which I expect to be no earlier than December.
