how were you doing them? I was flat out in and did my braking and downshift in the middle of them.

That was some serious driving by John . I struggled to get to 1:39.2

Cured some of the nasty understeer by running 3 lbs. less in the rear tires (thanks Jason). Still need to get the alighment checked.

Was able to lower my lap time by a half-second in the last (hottest?) session on Sunday by downshifting in the middle of the bowl after riding with Ry and noticing him doing the same. Thanks, Rylan. Wish I would have done this earlier

Thanks to everyone. Richard, nice to meet you. Had a great time again... and didn't bend any wheels!

Nice to meet you too Craig. I had one 4-wheels-off and two 2-wheels-off (in one session!) in that sharp right after the skidpad on Sunday, and thought for sure that my wheels would be bent, but luckily they look okay. My alignment might not be though.
Nice to have met Slick Rick, Reverend, Payneinthe an a few others who were previously just names on the board.

Thanks a million for the great event. The 350Z was running much better on the RA-1's than last time out. A whopping 5.3 seconds better! I ran a 1:34.0 CCW to win T6 and would have come second to Richard if I end up getting bumped to T5. My car seems to really be between those two classes though, T5.5 maybe? Nice to be 6th quickest overall (but still no match for the really hardcore S2k's) and at the top of the time sheets.

Anyway, my consistency was pretty amazing thanks to the Toyos. I ran 17 of my 34 timed laps in the 34's. The RA-1's don't do anything weird at all, in fact, they just seem like a stickier street tire. They even howl like a street tire as well, because I had to hear them howling up front all day. Yup, understeered all freaking day, no matter what I did, no matter what pressures I ran. The Z's problem is that the fronts have no negative camber at all and there is no adjustment. I am working on this and hopefully will have a fix by Buttonwillow.

Check out the front tire wear. The outside of the tire is on the right. See how all the treadbands are worn down at an angle with the outside being worn more than the inside? The rears looked perfect though:

It was a great event! One of the most fun track days for sure, but it seems like I missed out quite a bit not being there on Sat. Good to meet some of you and see some familiar faces again.

I guess it's time for me to flush the coolant. The car actually hit 4 bars. A little scary, but most likely no harm done to the car.

Ran RA-1's with 225 front for the first time. Still searching for the correct adjustment of the Comptech front bar. I had it set to the middle setting and, apparently, it was still too soft. I can just hear Jason yelling at me, "I told you so!"

Can't wait till BW...

I had the same lines as JZR through most of the track, but I took the Bowl VERY differently. Took a wide entry, got down to a slightly early apex and tracked out earlier. I could leave it in 3rd gear this way and have pretty much the same exit speed as I did when I tried 2nd gear. I'm used to momentum cars, what can I say.

This definately seemed to be a "fun" trackday. I really wish I had my car there. Oh well.

I see a lot of you guys comparing lines. While it's fun to do, it may not be conducive to getting your laptimes lower.

What you have to remember is that first of all every car is a little different and likes to be driven differently.
Then you have to factor in the different driving habits of all the drivers.
Lastly, a track that is so technical is gonna have a million different lines anyway.
A track that is slow is not going to punish you from taking a slightly different line because you didn't give up much by taking a different line.

My car should be ready for BW, so it will be fun to see y ou guys there.

Is everyone going?
