James, I agree with some of the things you said and I do think Josh has posts like the one you referenced, that involve a lot of assumptions that seem as though they're rock solid knowledge from an expert when really they're just assumptions from someone that knows some things but at the same time is not an expert, that he should probably be more careful of. I definitely shook my head when I saw that post about the sway bar, especially some of the comments about how it's poorly made because it looks just fine in my opinion.

I do think you take the response too far though. I definitely disagree with your assertion that all his posts should be deleted. Some of his recent posts have been very good contributions I think, his documentation of the Gendron rear sway bar for instance, and his build thread I find interesting. He has been pretty helpful to some of the newcomers to the class recently as well.

Basically while I agree with your specific points completely, I think your level of attack is unwarranted because he has contributed quite a bit to this forum recently, even if some of his posts have to be taken with a grain of salt.

In my opinion of course. Hopefully all of this gets deleted. I agree with you that your first post should mostly stay, but the specific attacks should probably be edited out by a moderator.

I completely agree and support your post. You just said what was on my mind and quite possibly many other people on this forum. A little over the top, but that is what happens when you tolerate Josh's posts for such a long time. I think most people myself included try to be polite and hold back. I don't care if this is deleted, i just wanted to support you.

Probably best to remove all this stuff, take the arguing to PM where it belongs please and delete this as well!

why? if we delete this, we should delete all of Josh's previous and future posts as well. Someone needs to set the record straight about this guy's posts.

Quite honestly, its embarrassing reading posts from what sounds like grade school kids bickering as opposed to keeping to the beneficial information. Your posts has some good info though, so I would just edit and keep the history lesson of the sway bar. That was great info and something even I didn't know. Just my .02 though...

I'm pretty sure I can feel the heat of this debate getting ready to over-heat my computer. Coming from a newb though this has been educational and the reason why I decided to start following this thread. A good debate is healthy every once in a while (considering all parties are conservative and "site" all of their assumptions). While I disagree with all of the attacking that is occurring, its not a bad thing to call someone out, its how all of us learn. Keep up the good sources of information and hopefully when the money starts to roll in (still in college and have more time-important things to spend my money on) I will be able to contribute to this thread!

Josh, you just dont get it. And in my opinion, Bill gendron is not a great fabricator, and his bar has always suffered from design flaws and weak hardware.
Gendron bar:
original arms from gendron bar v1> tossed because of design contacting steering boot from improper bends.
new arms > bends are not evenly bent causing different endlink angles. still contact some boots.
supplied mounts, pre BB. > weaker then oem and would deflect after a weekend.
supplied endlinks > single sheer and not proper length, fail often.
new bb mounts > way heavy, over priced, and over kill for the forces applied.

A simple design, done with the cheapest hardware, and still done wrong.
way over priced. I understand making a living. I just dont have respect making it off of club racers and weekend autocross enthusiasts.

Josh, just because someone says a part is good, does not mean it is. these people making parts for cars, are not world renown f1 engineers.
Remember people, be careful what you put on your car, do your own research, and make sure it is actually an improvement over what honda spent millions of dollars developing.

I'm going to play devils advocate here for a sec.

I think the Gendron bar is the best option out there for those of us who want a pre-fabricated 1 3/8" bar that is a bolt on. Not all of us have the expertise or available equipment to do this ourselves. Other than the endlinks I have been very happy with my Monster bar. I ordered new endlinks from McMaster-Carr and haven't had problems since. I've posted part links for others to use. Yes, it may be a bit overpriced, but it's really the only option available that gives us that much stiffness and adjustability. I should also point out that I bought this bar before I had committed to STR, and was still considering B-Stock (in a non CR AP2). I believe it has the adjustment range for both, perhaps at the sacrifice of a small amount of weight.

I constantly hear people complaining about clunking coming from their FSB. Since I installed the new endlinks, my bar has been quiet as a mouse.

Then again maybe I'm just attempting to justify spending a grand on a FSB...

Speaking of Bill's swaybars, FYI for those that have the 1.25" ball bearing mounts, from someone that bought multiple pieces used. I have two center sections for the bar, one solid that came with the bearing mount that easily goes into the bearing, and one 1/4" wall that came with the older bushing mounts that gets stuck when it goes into the bearing. It appears that Bill is turning down the ends of the bars in the lathe to make them fit the bearings, something that wasn't immediately apparent.
