On another note, next time you attend a Greensboro meet Mr. Sled, lets have a friendly run on 40 and then a dig if we can find a space.

Wait your turn buddy!! haha

Maybe all three of us can get on 40 and put every other commuter at high risk, sounds like fun to me! A one mile race, three cars. Winner takes ummm.... gas money!

The 160+ mph LS1 will win the 1-miler I promise. However I don't like how 4th runs out at 120ish. Kinda sucks Oh well. 5th is like .70 or something IIRC.

They tested an 01 Firehawk to run 33 seconds and reach 145mph in a 1-mile standing-start test. The Firehawk is pretty much the same as a regular Trans-Am according to every dyno test I saw. Expect similar performance from any LS1 car with a 6-speed and non-convertible.

The S2000's top speed is only 147.

Hey we can run for fun, I don't care I'm not out here saying the s2000 is the fastest car ever, I'm just telling what happened the other night. Several runs and I pulled each time. You have to be stock and an A4 though If you're poppin' a 12bolt in there I doubt you're stock.

Maybe he had a couple hundred lbs of something in the trunk Oh he did have a passenger. Could that make enough difference? Me with little to no gas, maybe a fully tanked up fbody with 2 people in it, maybe some junk in the trunk, and maybe I can win from a roll?

Doubt it was a drivers race, it was auto so all he had to do was floor it from a roll. You can select the gears somewhat in those transmissions cant you? I know he shifted down a gear for certain before we started one of the races, so I know he was prepared and in the appropriate gear (I would hope).

I will remember that when GM starts making quality products. Don't kid yourself! A drag race doesn't determine much about a car.

I will remember also when I slam the next TransAm on the next x-cross.

(they have a my penis is bigger than yours special edition engine right? )

I am guessing you have not run across many F-bodies set up for auto X.
My car is not set up for x-cross. Its factory stock (well it was the last time I x-crossed it) and no F-Body can stand a chance. No F-Body in factory trim is as satisfying as an S2000. My father has owned F-bodies most of his life and he can assure you that no F-Body is or was what an S2000 is to the car world.

The S2000 was released on the year 2000 here in the USA, now very few have over 100,000 and its rare to find because they mostly are not driven daily but you can ask any of those owners in here and they will let you know if their S2000 have any problems while passing the 100K mile mark.

"I am guessing you have not come across many S2000s set for auto x."

Hell!! a Miata is more satisfying and fun than any F-Body. Ask real drivers not your neighbor with the mullet.

PS. In the full-size truck market GM's LSX based 5.3 has had the least PPH out there 9:100 vs Toyota's 13:100 (Problem Per Hundred) and a lot of GM's other products are pretty solid as well.
Hahahaha I like how people look only at the detail that benefits their argument but never the whole picture.

Let me help you...

TOYOTA is kicking GMs ASS in everything else. Overall Toyota is giving GM the shaft with no vaseline. Ask the pencil pushers at GM who is making their job so hard. One thing I do give GM is that is ahead of FORD who is already taking a second mortgage on their preperties. SAD!

Don't kid yourself. You opinion is worthless because the facts are all over the place. I turn on the news and all I see is how GM is losing money and FORD is almost history. The new Camaro has not even come out and the few that have had the chance to test already have a huge dissapointment. Please don't compare Toyota to GM.

As to durability, the LS1 is a HELLA stout motor. Little stuff like window motors go out due to poor-design I will admit, but thats pretty minor, Look at your shitty clutch and differential.

GM makes one good engine and they are suddenly the kings of the hill. (Reminds me of the days when Team Oreca Vipers retired and GM started celebrating that they were the best, of course after the team that gave them something to think about was gone.)

Simple question...

Why does GM uses Honda engines in some of their vehicles? Oh wait, they can't make anything else good but their LS engines, they just go at get them from the world leader in internal combustion engines, HONDA!!! Right!

Don't think Im just talking out of my ass, I bet you don't even know whats the best thing GM actually makes...

Auto Trannys, that they do make VERY GOOD!!!! Sadly is not enough to make up for all the crap they make. Sorry to brake your heart but GM is cheating on you with HONDA.
