Boxster Type S
F1s2000,
You might want to rethink that statement. If the Boxster is a poor man's car, and the S2000 cost less than the Boxster what does that make the S2000 buyer? Homeless tramps?
If you wanted to convertible with great handling which would you buy, the Boxster or the 911 Cab? You'd buy the Boxster, or well if you could afford it you'd buy the Carrera-GT which makes the 911 Turbo a "poor man's car".
As you can see it all depends on perspective...

The s2000 is a Honda correct? Honda doesn't have an s2000 option for a cheaper price. You pay for what you get. Porsche made the boxter for people like you who can't afford a 911. And I'm not trying to say you are in a lower class.

Although WRS2K calls me a clown for some reason (I can't recall ever insulting him), he is spot on that the Boxster chasis is in some ways superior to the 911 chasis. The new Carrera GT (is that a real enough Porsche for you F1S2000?) is a mid-engine design. Have you ever seen a RUF 3400 or RUF 3600 on the street, let alone the track? The RUF 3600 will eat 996's for lunch. Porsche has different cars for different segments of the market, they even make an SUV now called the Cayenne in case you weren't paying attention. Have you seen Gemballa's twin turbo Boxster?
You can't be a Porsche owner with an attitude like that F1S2000, scratch that, you could go buy a Porsche, in fact maybe you already have, but you certainly aren't any Porsche "enthusiast" or someone knowledgable about Porsche from the garbage you are slinging around here.
I'll gladly stack my Porsche up next to yours any day of the week, any time you want to come out to the track for a comparison just let me know.

Your right S2Ken I haven't see any Porsche's down here in Miami........ Nor do i know what I am talking about. I don't know why I waste my time.
Oh and WRS2K the 911 chassis is used for gt racing not the Boxster's so that comment about being Superior to that of the 911 chassis is ridicules.

2 years ago, when this thread was started, it was appropriate to talk about them "until the cows came home".....
guys, the cows have come home, been fed, slaughtered and eaten.
give it a rest, already.....

And this is what happens when the cows have been over fed.

I know the questions are for F1S2000 but I'd like to answer these myself.
Ever driven one on the track? No, I'd like to. If you have one, gimme the keys!
Ever driven one competitively in a club race? See prior answer.
Ever seen the RUF 3400/3600 or Gemballa TT Boxster? No, only in mags.
Ever driven one? Once again, if you have one of those, gimme the keys g-dammit!
Ever been to a race where 911's participated? Yes, they're freaking fast and the drivers were good. I got to see a few of them during a Solo 1 and Drift Session event.
Ever been in the pit with Porsche's engineers and race crew? Nope. But does watching a neighbor who has one change his oil in the garage count?
Are you even a member of PCA? Nope, but I dance the Hula twice a month.
