Christ, I mean Type R, arguably the greatest all round FWD car ever produced, and in limited numbers, chassis, motor, suspension, all, and you guys are comparing it with a GTI? No doubt GTIs are quick, but c'mon they aren't even on the same level. The panache that comes with owning a historical and classic piece of Japanese machinery oudoes the GTI in every parameter.
I am not disagreeing that the ITR is a great car (from someone who wanted a DC2R like anythng 2 years ago-I like it more than the S2K), however your interpretation of what is great and worth owning, et cetera is subjective and your opinion. Just like I have my opinions, let's keep it at that.
Btw, how does "style" come from owning said legendary Japanese racing machine? I thought that getting something like an ITR was for racing gratification, not for style.
As for SteveC, "Retarded Racing"... an appropriate name. Who says that the R32 is "slower", and in what way? As for calling you a mag racer, whether you are or not, your posts have shown us exactly how you think... I have my opinon and I'm sure you have your opinion of me (even though I have tried to refrain from jamming both feet in my mouth).
As for the 'liar' part, please tell me where I directly called you a liar? I posted info from other people who own the DC2R and off Acuras web-site, or the one who claims to have "race scales" and has weighted his car in @ 2550 (or whatever) lbs... what was the gas tank empty and the seats/spare removed, or something?
I am impressed that you actually do track your cars, I'll give props for that.
Anyway, this is a retrded discussion, and I do think that ITRs are fast, especially around a track. I will have a deposit @ a dealership for the DC5R, if it ever comes to the US, but not as a replacement for the GTI.
I'm done. I think that we should talk as mature adults....

Ya...sure it's stock...
That's the beauty of labeling hey? Don't kid yourself...it's labeled stock and that's about it....I wonder...how much would you spend taking a GSR and MODIFYING it to be an equivalent Type-R???

WTF are you talking about???
STOCK car is a STOCK car. The way it came from the factory. The way it is classified in the SCCA auto-X.
It has a bumper-to-bumper manufacturer's warranty. It's a STOCK car!!!
What's so focking hard to understand about that?
You want the whole sane world to abandon that definition and adopt what YOU define as stock cars. Since YOU think that ITR is not stock, but the GSR is and the GTI is, then it must be true???? WTF?
Alright then: GTI is NOT stock. It comes MODIFIED from the factory.
