my best friend has a type r.. it is WAY slower.. no competition..

you're friends are NOT good drivers. ITRs pull 14.4 bone stock with good drivers. The s2000 pulls 14.0 bone stock with a good driver. 0.4 second difference is not WAY slower, it's a close race. The ITR is harder to keep in the powerband than the S2000, but it's also easier to launch. You put $1,000 in mods in the ITR, and it's good for high 13s eaaaaaaasy.

Why are we even aruging? Everyone knows the S2000 is faster than the Type R. It's a fact for Christ sake.

As for modded, race one and find out.

Hahah, S2K are more dominant when it comes to launching.

So a FWD car with a high power band and low "low end torque" is easier to launch than a RWD car with high powerband that has a bit more "low end torque"???
It's a combination of things. Clutch, drivetrain...i'm not sure about all the "math" behind it, but go launch a type-r and tell me it's not twice as easy to figure out as launching an s2000.

Hahah, S2K are more dominant when it comes to launching.
again, i'm in no way saying the R launches BETTER. If both cars get perfect launches the S2000 pulls...f ucken obviously. I'm saying it's easier not to f uck up really badly in the R like many people seem to do in the S.

Why are we even aruging? Everyone knows the S2000 is faster than the Type R.
Faster? yes it is, but an s2000 beating an LS1 is the equivalent to a type-r beating an S2000. In fact, it's more likely that the latter would occur! Everyone on this board thinks the S2000 is neck and neck with LS1s, but no one can understand that a well driven type-r is right there with an s2000? What the hell is going on?

LOL, I think most of us know it's the actual force being put to the ground (torque curve, gearing, traction) versus the mass it's trying to move that determines acceleration...

302 ftlb doesn't mean diddly when it's pushing a 3400 lb fatty-boom-batty...
