Our sports car group, along with some members of the local Vette Club, and the North Texas S2000 Club will be making a joint two day run to Arkansas. There will also be some other Vipers, Z350s, Porches, etc.
insomZ, I am sure you will get your wish to run a Viper

People, Insomz has a LS1 with 380WHP. That's not as fast as the current SRT Viper, but it is still a beast in its own. I don't see why he couldn't hang with or beat one of the regular old vipers.

when I was first reading this thread, I thought he was talking bout racing a viper in his S2000 and I was getting embarrassed ! haha

 

hokiemax: thanks man.. its not as much of a beast as i want it to be.. my final goal w/ the car is 500rwhp on motor .. 600rwhp on the spray.

thats gonna take big cam/head upgrade.. 90mm intake manifold/tb.. eletric water pump.. pulley. and some tightly crossed fingers. lol so far i've seen a z06 make 485rwhp on motor out of a similar combo

Looks like a lot of misinformation is flowing in this thread. 5000lbs Vipers, comparing RWHP with manufacturer's published HP, some people believe Vipers can't be beat with anything, some people don't bother to read the thread and assume it's an S2K vs. Viper race, ...

Vipers, just like the LS1 F-bodies, come HUGELY underrated from the factory. So you can't really look at their 400HP or 450HP factory rating and assume they'll dyno at 340RWHP or 380RWHP.

Kirk, you probably raced a 1st generation SRT-10 Viper. They'd probably dyno a bit more than your Z28 and probably weight a bit more too.
