Let see I think my Turbo kit cost about the same as the Comtech S 2000 SC kit. only I got more bang for the buck. And with all my mods I have less than 20k invested including the car! As far as practial what 2 seater is...is all about fun....doing the work yourself making improvements and squashing the competition. Thats my therapy! I guess I would be a little bitter too..if I had over paid for a lesser sport car.



Want a good example of over kill look at the VW Bug(Motor Trend June 01, total cost 65k in making it a AWD V6 twin turbo 556 hp monster that could only run a 12.99 1/4 @ 102 mph. Now thats pitiful.

YES, I'm aware there are a slew amount of morons out there that think their **enter your affordable/inexpensive car with tremendous potential of choice here** is the best thing sinced slice bread because they're faster than X, Y, and Z; with the S2000 being included somewhere in X, Y, and Z.

On the other hand, there are also folks out there that think if they drop 37 grand (or however much depending on your local dealer) on a car that some automotive rag managed to click high 13's out of, they've automatically become a conglomeration of Dale Earndheart, John Force, and Mario Andretti. Any car that happens to be cheaper and faster is a waste of money and will never be an S2000, while any car that is faster better be because it has X amount more displacement than the 2.0...and even then, the S2000 is still better than any 'stinking red neck camaro'.

My point is...could people sometimes just grow up and realize it's always apples to oranges and the only cars that really suck are Kias?

Why dont you put a few more miles on your low milage garage queen and ignore the post that dont appeal to you. This is street encounters...and it was concerning a race with a miata.

Miata's can be brutal, How about the Monster Miata, drop in the Ford 5.0 HO and add the RX7 rear end, brakes. I have read and heard of 0-60 times in the mid high 3's very low 4's, modded that would be a different story. My best friend has a 5.0 he does not drive that much any more because he purchased a Typhoon. And the wife has her car. We were talking about getting a used Miata and dropping the 5.0 engine in it.
