If RX-7's are so badass, why do resale values suck so bad? MkIV Supras have a MUCH better resale value, that ought to say what the masses think about their relative merits. They're so cheap now that almost any immature punk can buy one!

As for which car would win on a road course, don't forget driver skill as possibly more important than the car...and street racing is for morons.

let's put it this way.
if you compare s2000 to other roadsters (z3,tt,slk,miata, etc) s2000 is the focking shiznit.
for $32700, you get killer performance, and get awesome options including hid headlight, CONVERTABLE , leather, etc. also, honda fit and finish and reliability. and it looks so good it gets everybody's attention.
0-60 mid 5 seconds right out of the box (i don't think many rx7 runs under 5 seconds, they're just a tiny bit faster stock)

but rx7's price was way higher than s2k. (not the 93 models, i think they jacked the price up in 94-95 models to near or right around $40000) pay little bit more and you can get a vette. comparing modded rx7 and modded s2k imo isn't fair, of course turbo rx7 is way more mod friendly than na 4 cylinder.

Remember which vette was out then (C4). The RX-7 was a much better performer.

i don't want to start a rx7 vs. supra thread and i'm not saying supras are on the top of the food chain among imports.
you know, when i owned a turbo dsm (my previous car), i've beaten 2 supras i raced, but then again, i don't think i've raced any really fast ones.
it's good that you beat all 5 bpu supras you raced, but wait until you race really fast ones. that will motivate you to do a 20b 3rotor swaps.
btw, i love the 7, i'm planning to own one oneday.

The BPU/BPU+ supras I raced are all VERY fast. And yes I do have friends who have the really fast ones, with the single turbo upgrades. But then that wouldn't be a fair match up against my stock turbos.

A 20B swap is serious stuff. All you'd really need is a single turbo upgrade with the normal 13B motor to hit 9s-10s in the 1/4. The lowest 1/4 ET that a stock turboed BPU rx-7 can do IMHO near 11 flat, most will usually do high 11s/low 12s. I can't image what a 20B with a big single turbo would do. Can u say overkill?

You're right, I wasn't thinking about the ZR1 when I wrote that. It's got a much better power/weight ratio. How did the ZR-1 do in competition? I know it was classed against the FD3S RX-7.
