the only plus you could get out of trading the car in is the drop-top. other than that, you have everything else the s2k has to offer in your car already.. and a LOT more
What a load of stinking, steaming Bull Stooker!!!!! Have you ever dared to take the S2k to the limit?? Obviously NOT!!

SupraQuick,
What's so special about being accepted to UNC with almost 20,000 other students?? And "talking" with someone from MIT?? Do you know the motto for the state of NC? "To be, rather than to seem".

S2k's are for people who have a much more refined taste, and reason for being.

Whatever headlamps stooks come with - HIDs? They are unmistakable - I swear I can see them from a mile away - no I'm not that fast to make them fade away - they are too damn bright! And if there are bumps in the road then they can give me a headache watching them in my rearview - I still want one

Wait, why is this in street encouters???? Hmmm
Can someone close this thread, too much of it is flaming/response. Hmmm

If you want to drag race, keep your RX-7 but keep an eye on it. The reliability does not tend to be high, especially after you modify it. IMHO, the RX-7 looks nice, but I'm always disappointed looking at it up close, expecting it to be a Viper from a distance. I wanted a 2-seater conv that didn't cost $45K because of the "company name" factor such as BMW or Porche. I was thrilled to hear of the S2000 from having great expirience with 2 previous Hondas and an Acura. So easy for me to work on!

The S was for me, it may or may not be for you. Best of luck with whatever you decide!!!

OK first off this board is MEAN. Honestly, he wanted just an opinion of each car. Isnt that fair? Instead we got, "screw s2000, screw supra." PLease grow up.

Now for my thoughts,

All th ecars mentioned are incredible cars.
-First the Supra. VERY VERY fast. Looks good with body it. Modify it and youll be racing trains=] Also its a BIG car, and great brakes, decent reliability but expensive when the time comes
-300zx (my first dream car) Awesome looks, pretty quick but heavy. Too much car. WHEN A Z GOES IT GOES. $$$$$$$$$$$
-RX7 I WOULD SO BUY ONE. stock they look like crap but the body kit from th rz in japan makes the car incredibly. SUPER LIGHT, SUPER NIMBLE, DAMN FINE BREAKS. and from what Ive heard they are fine up to 100000 miles then they are in need of help
-s2000 RELIABLE! HID!!!! 9000rpm!! handling. as far as looks, you either ike it or you dont. personally i like the rx7 more but your choice.

Now, as most know I own a del sol vtec, and Im going to be buying a new car very soon. The choice is VERY hard. Supra out of the question becasue I like small cars and its too big, the z Im afraid of becasue I dont wnat to go bankupt if it breaks. But between the rx 7 and s2000 i love them both! If I had the cash Id most likely buy the rx7. But im leaning toward the s becasue the dealership can help persuade the bank to get me the loan. But honestly they are both nice. I hope my thoughts helped some.

And good luck.

The car was originally my Grandfathers... and he never drove it so when i turned 18 he let me buy it from him WAY cheap.. so i understand what you mean totally .. i know i was getting of subject but hey i gotta represent the supra...

The Supra looks like it's on steriods. Chicks don't dig that. They think you're trying to overcompensate when you drive a car that looks over testonerone-ized.
Finally, a dude that understands!

I bet you don't wear sandles with socks. haha

Currently, there's NOTHING in the import scene that has more style points than the S2000. What's style? Looks. Respectable performance. Unique.

The drop top helps a lot in differentiating this Honda from other imports.

Ok, first off I have been a long time RX7 owner - this is my 3rd FD. Just so that everyone knows that I do know about RX7's, my first car ran 10's, my 2nd car ran 9's, and now my current car run's 11's. I've pretty much been through all possible mods (single turbo, ports, TTC, blah blah).

However, for me, speed is not the be all and end all. I am currently debating between the S2000 and a 97+ Supra TT. The reason I am getting rid of the RX7 is really pretty simple: quality. Regardless how much of a rotorhead you are, there can be no denial that the RX7 build quality SUCKS. I'm talking about fuses blowing, door handles breaking, door locks jamming, power door locking mechanism snapping, IC hoses melting (yes they are plastic as stock), the list goes on. Add that to a cumulative 4 engines in about 6 years of ownership, 3 water pumps, 3 radiators, and a ton of other stuff and you get the picture. Sure these are all fairly small problems, but when you use your car on a daily basis as I do it's a little disheartening to know that something somewhere could and probably will go wrong at some stage.

The only issue to me really is the relative lack of power in the S2000 - it's great looking, fast (in stock terms), but when you're used to 400rwhp and above, I think it's going to be difficult to drop down to almost half that level (plus the S2000 is heavier than the RX7). I'm curious to know more about the turbo kits which are popping up here and there - I've heard stories about ~350rwhp and 12.1 second 1/4 miles. Any more info on this?

Then there's the Supra...this seems to be the be all and end all of Japanese sports cars. Excellent build quality, incredible engine that can stand 600rwhp + on the stock bottom end, great looks, rare, nice cross between a coupe and a convertible (targa), infinite mod potential...but something about it seems too 'bulky'. Weighing in at almost 1000lbs more than the RX, and about 700 more than the S2000 I think I would have a really hard time having fun in the car (maybe I'm wrong of course). Plus the used prices are fairly ludicrous (94 TT 6 speeds going for $25k+, 6k over bluebook). I guess that's why alot of rotorheads call them 'fast camrys'. Maybe that's a good thing though.

Anyway as you can see I'm fairly undecided as to what to do - no Honda dealership around here will allow me to testdrive the S2k, so that makes me a little more hesitant. I've never really driven a Supra before either, so I'm lost on all counts =)

Yeah, I don't even know how you could compare the two cars. S2000 has world class style, the Supra has almost none. It looks like a Japanese muscle car. I'm not sure where the appeal is here . .

The RX-7 vs. S2000 is more a relevant comparison. The only problem is, we live in the real world, any comparison strictly based upon performance is for academic purposes only. In the real world, you have other things to consider, such as reliability and driveability. With reliability as a consideration, I would chose the S in a blink of an eye.
