[QUOTE]I'm surprised at you. A man of your education should know that style in itself is subjective, not objective. This simply means that style is open to individual interpretation, and not an exact "thing" that can be quantified. If you want your education to show, act the part...don't talk the part. You must have meant style for you

I see your point, but I much prefer the lines of the RX-7 over the S2K in stock trim. In fact, if the RX-7 didn't have the quality issues I would have purchased one, but the 3rd gen 7's have a tendency to break the bank, even if one knows what one is doing. I talked with Peter Farrell Supercars and Petit Racing before making my decision to rule it out as my car of choice.

I do not regret purchasing my S2K in any way, for me, it works almost as well as an RX-7 would have, with the added bonus of being a drop-top. Still, I dream of having a 3 rotor Banzai edition, nothing else compares in my eyes.

Not sure if you know this, but the diff in the S2K is almost exactly like that on the 3rd gen RX-7. Honda used the Torsen for a blueprint because it's the best, unfortunately for us it's not an exact duplicate...they should have left well enough alone.

Also, let us not forget about the apex seals on the RX-7. It is true that the car is easily modded to be out of reach of an S2K's performance, but it can't be heavily modded without internal work, just like the S2K, and to that end I'll say that the Turbo S2K will hang with most heavily modded RX-7's.

Both cars are an excellent choice, but the feeling each car gives is another story and it has been touched on little. When driving the RX-7, I don't get that race-car feel as much as I do in the S2K, and on a sunny day...there's no comparrison. Truly, if I had the dough to throw around, I'd have em' both.

Actually saw a couple today. Red and that dark green. It's aging gracefully, but aging nonetheless. The Supra looks downright old. The 300ZX looks even older.

The 3rd gen is aging gracefully but is aging as stated earlier. The RX8 won't replace the RX7. It's a 2 door with rear suicide doors 4 seater with a 6 speed auto transmission - not exciting in my book even with the 250 hp renesis rotary - 6 speed manual would be interesting. For a car that is 6-8 years old I think it's lines have remained the most flawless over it's Japanese siblings. To the person who said that the RX7 didn't feel as much as a racecar as the S2K - you've got to be the only person in the world to think that. The RX7 might not be the fastest 1/4 miler but even in stock trim can waste most every car on a roadcoarse and most other handling categories. I'd say if you have a 3rd gen - keep it and put some money into restoring it - sounds weird for a 8 year old car but the interior and paintjob isn't exactly Porsche quality. put some money in the engine - silicone seals and o-rings, streetport, oilport, and coolant port, 2mm Hurley racing seals or 3mm ceramics and you'll have a bulletproof rotary that'll last over 100K even with 400+ hp. The S2K is very nice but RX7s are getting harder to find and if you sell it you'd regret it.

The RX-7 is a great car all around. I love it. In fact if it had a slightly better reliability record, it would be sitting in my garage right now instead of an S2000! Obviously I went with the S2000 when I was faced with a similar situation. No I didn't already have a RX-7 in my possesion, but when it came down to the line, I chose the S2000. Unless you want to race your car, I'd say go with the S2000!
And on the issue of style, I'm in High School and it's all about style. I drove one of the homecoming queen nominees around the football field at game. The other nominees were driven in Vette's, RX-7's, Supra's, and Benz's. And I was voted best car and got to go the next football game and drive the homecoming queen. The people of our high school liked it over the Supra and RX-7. So yes, it has style!!!
My choice S2000!!!

AUDIHILE2000, If ur talking about stock for stock the RX7 IS FASTER, no questions about that. And more torque, but I think ill probably get an S2k if I can afford it, just for a change of cars.
