S2000 VS. THE WORLD!

stat check the G35, their fast man...even lightly modded (intake/exhaust) vs. a stock S
Against the older '03-'04-'05 DE 350z's and G's (287 and 280chp) I always felt the S2000 held a slight advantage stock to stock. Once the 'rev up' motors and 'HR' motors started being produced I think the advantage obviously went over to the Nissan's, but hey thank Honda for never significantly upgrading our beloved S's like they had to do with the Z's. 287chp to 332 now offered in the 370Z's is a pretty nice bump in power.
When I had a stock '04 G35 coupe I would regularly lose to my buddies s2000 with a short ram intake and a cat back exhaust. And my G was just about on par with most of the stock to lightly bolted-on 350z's I ever ran into.
This is kinda what I'm talking about.

Thanks brotha.
Your runs sound dead on with good drivers behind the wheel.
There's only so much power/weight will do for you. But since weight matters LESS the faster you go, power becomes more of a dominate factor. Cars with more power will start to shine a bit more into triple digits, or so.

So I drive a stock AP2, and it's pretty remarkably quick if you ask me, even stock. I would like to mod the car when I have the money but I'm pretty comfortable with it stock.
A friend just picked up a lightly modded G35 coupe w/ manual tranny and I'm wondering how the S2K will fare against it. I know the S2K has a 2.2l i4 while the G35 has a 3.5l v6, but it weighs significantly more than the S2K and does not handle as well based on the chassis design. It seems like the G35 and the S2K are a relatively even matchup, because the G35 has a larger engine to make up for its extra weight.
Moving on to his mods...I know he has a CAI as well as aftermarket dual exhaust. He also has aftermarket brakes. I'm not sure what else, if anything.
Also, I have been driving the S2K for quite a while now and I drive it every day, so I have a feel for the transmission and I know my friend is not experienced at driving stick. I think even if his car is faster theoretically, my driving might edge him out.
What do you guys think?

Look up like 6 post's. It's an AP2 taking on an older G35 (2004). The S2000 has I/E, and the G is stock.
But considering the older vq35de motors didn't respond too well to minor breathing bolt-ons, one with an intake and exhaust isn't going to be any faster. It will just probably have better response, but very minimal.
In a nut shell against the 2003/2004 G35's
MPH:
0-60 S2K>G35
0-100 S2K>G35
0-120 S2K>G35
120+ G35>S2K
