S2K vs RX8

1st you think the rx-8 and s2k are a close race, A close race isn't 4+ car lengths from 2nd-4th gear!! Now you are saying that the EVO isn't even close in performance to an s2k...Why don't YOU stop magazine racing and get some real life experience!
Oh and yes the S2000 is a high 13 second car ALL DAY LONG! With a good driver...Problem is some people don't know how to properly launch an s2k...and when it comes to a 1/4 mile, the launch can be everything...and on the street some people don't start in the right gear, thus giving the car a bad rep. Do you own an s2000?? Cause you disappoint me if you do.
The s2k is not an easy car to perfect...and yes I admit it takes a perfect run to get into the 13's, but that dosen't mean the car isn't capable of running 13's all day...just that driver isn't capable.

I have plenty of real-life experience, thank you. I've driven both cars, I have an S2K, my friends have S2K's, my friends have EVOs. I've been to the track. I've done quarter mile races, I've done autocrosses, why don't you get real?
However, minus the insults... I do agree with Blessed! My 03 s2000 was most likely a mid to high 13 sec in the 1/4 mile... I had I/H/E, clutch flywheel, Tein Ra's, etc... I beat alot of faster cars - I ran a 13.8 WRX and beat him off the line 3 times in a row... so his statement is valid!
As far as the RX8, I've killed those in my old s2000! The driver could've been a big factor, but then again... I thought they were over-rated hp wise? Who knows the RX8 might hook up well if launched at higher rpms?

I think us "fixing" the race would be kind of counter productive to what we are trying to accomplish here, a comparison. I can assure you we both will be running them wide open the whole time
Well, with I/H/E and other mods, you should be able to hit a 13.8-13.9 with a good driver in the S2K. But a stock S2K is not going to run 13's "all day long" as was being posted earlier. A stock S2K will run 14's the majority of the time with very few lucky drivers breaking the 13's (13.9 on a good day with good conditions, good track, good launch, etc).
I've already said that I think the S2K is quicker than an RX8, but it can be close depending on the driver. And how someone can think that the EVO and S2K are going to be close is ridiculous. How does a low 13-second car stay with a 14-second car? Only a bad driver in the EVO could make it a close one, as 271 hp and almost twice as much torque is going to push the EVO ahead of an S2K. Now, get it on the twisites, and it will be very close.

That makes sense...! I won't comment any further, I actually considered my s2000 stock with the minor bolt-ons I had done at the time. Blessed could've mis-interpretted this also?!
You're right 14.1-14.5 is about average bone stock s2000 1/4 mile!

13's all day was maybe not the correct way to put it but 15's was way out of the ball park.
i took my 04 to the track for the first time. Not knowing where to launch and where to shift with the new motor and all that stuff, these are the results.

If you look at the clock time, with each run it got better. Then it started raining and track closed so i couldn't get anymore runs in but i could've gotten into 13's that day with a couple more runs. This is bone stock by the way, with the top of the airbox off.
