Good times!

But, you also have an 04' S2K, and I still think they are quicker than previous models. My friend and I traded cars one night - I have an 03', he has an 04' - and I was able to pull on him as we lined up side-by-side and did some second gear "testing" on the road. But it was the 9K redline in my 03' that allowed him to pull on me when I was shifting at 8K RPMs in his 04'. It was close, as one would pull on the other back and forth, but I believe the 04' would have an advantage.

Again, the RX8 isn't as quick as the S2K, but I think that it can be close, as a few tenths to even half a second are completely up to the driver.

Talking about ET's is pointless unless you're running from a stop. Since most street encounters are from a roll, trap speed is what you need to look at. RX8's only trap in the 93-96mph range...(and that's from the RX8 forums). S2000's generally trap 98-100mph. The above race makes perfect sense.

As far as the EVO goes, it's just a faster car. But then again, don't let the ET's fool you into thinking it's 10 leagues ahead of the S2000. It's the AWD that gets the EVO the good times, it's the 240awhp that gets it 101-103mph trap speeds.

Well, with I/H/E and other mods, you should be able to hit a 13.8-13.9 with a good driver in the S2K. But a stock S2K is not going to run 13's "all day long" as was being posted earlier. A stock S2K will run 14's the majority of the time with very few lucky drivers breaking the 13's (13.9 on a good day with good conditions, good track, good launch, etc).

I've already said that I think the S2K is quicker than an RX8, but it can be close depending on the driver. And how someone can think that the EVO and S2K are going to be close is ridiculous. How does a low 13-second car stay with a 14-second car? Only a bad driver in the EVO could make it a close one, as 271 hp and almost twice as much torque is going to push the EVO ahead of an S2K. Now, get it on the twisites, and it will be very close.
You say this but yet every s2000 owner will admitt that thoes mods do basically NOTHING for the S2...except makeing her purr. Maybe 5 whp will be gained from thoes mods...and thats being NICE! So now why is ok to you for an I/E/H s2k to run constant 13's, but a stock s2 wont..?!

And about the evo...catch one from a roll and tell me what happens! Yes there low 13 sec cars stock, but thats because they can pull a 1.6 60ft time due to there awd...from a roll it is a very very close race (edge going to the driver). Like someone already mentioned...look at the trap speeds for the evo..around 100-102ish. About the same as an s2k..Right?? This should show you something. Even with the Evo's awd hole shot advantage, after 1320 ft the S2 is still going roughly the same speed. Now take (and this isn't accurate, but just an example) There 1.6 60ft time, and compare it to an s2000's 2.0ish...theres 4 tenths of an edge right there only 60 feet into the race. That's basically like giving the evo a few car length jump and trying to catch him, of coarse the S2 isn't gonna..and of coarse the evo will pull a better 1/4 mile time with that said..but when you take away there hole shot advantage from that same car and race him from a roll, you start even again, this gives the S a much better chance, and maybe even an advantage due to the awd hurting the evo's 271 hp...and also think...the evo needs a 1.6-1.8 60ft time just to trap right above 100mph..the S can do it with a 2.0...from a roll the S2000 is stronger, and geared better.

After 100mph forget about it, s2 all the way (not by much but still enough)

Just incase you think its never been done, look again at this evo aginst my s2...I/E, clutch..vs boost controlled, and intaked evo, FROM A ROLL! No1's trying to say the S is faster in the 1/4!

Oh yea and you say most s2's running 14's and lucky one's getting into the 13's...not luck my friend, SKILL!

Snowbebe, those are very good times for a first timer. If you could improve your 60' times, your 1/4 times will certainly be in the 13's.

Not so much a first timer since i had a 00 for almost 2 years before i got the 04 but its very much different in it. I also haven't been racing this one as much as i did my old S because although i learned how to drive the piss out of that car, i also went through some trannys and a diff while doing it. If i got a couple more runs that night i probly could of gotten the one threes.

I have been thinking of gettig one to lower the vtec to lets say 5,500 since everytime i drop it, i'm always out of vtec and the other cars get sort of a jump on me. Did it help out any for your car? what all did you tune?
Actually I left the VTEC engagement point at 5850...I herd it's not good to change the vtec crossover point without tunning the car for it...however I do love the fuel controller controls that come with it. I would still recommend getting a fuel pressure regulator, fuel pump, and rail...and why your at it might as well get some injectors...

WOW, this is funny.

There are WAY TO MANY variables (starting with altitude) to make the claims that S2000's run high 13's all day or low 15's all day.

Reallity 101...14-14.3 at 97-99 is pretty commen.

As far as RX-8's being a "drivers race". The numbers just don't add up. In real life, in magazines, Nice car, but heavier and less WHP than the S2000. Given equal drives the S2000 will have the edge.
