if it is a non sti model then the S is faser stock in all areas expect the initial launch. Although I never ran into one wrx owner that could outlaunch me because most do not know how too.

With his mods the S is still a lot faster. He has a better advantage now from a dig, but your car will reel him in. From a roll you'll leave him behind.

^ Agree with the roll, but the celi thing is killing me. How is stg.2 going on yours. U getting a pro tune or are you going with a bigger turbo?
Actually, I am all stock powertrain wise

Give me 5 years for the warranty to run out. I'm going to put on an STi turbo, bigger intercooler, full TBE, and get a protune. Should be good for some solid WHP. I don't really want to drop too much cash into this car as it will end up being my daily driver and thus, needs to be reliable. Also, the cash saved from modding is going into a Lotus Elise

Sounds like me, my STi will be my daily, and my Elise will be my weekend toy.

I think it will be close. If you're a better driver, you may win. I raced one from stoplight to stoplight (probably an 03) and beat it by a nose, but neither of us launched hard. An STI of course is a COMPLETELY different story.
