^ it only partly unzips not totally so you CANNOT just zip a new one in! You have to pull the top out.

So Yes it unzips BUT only after you disassemble the top.
i don't get why there's so much fussing in this thread...i never said there wasn't any disassembly involved...

anyways, the procedure is clearly outlined in the honda tsb posted by acrbill (probably one of the few useful replies in this thread...)

i think it'll be more expensive than the part that's being replaced because:

1) most honda dealers have little experience w/ s2000's
2) a lot of labour is involved (basically removing half the top)
3) honda dealers like to price gouge on the s2000 because it's not an econo box

considering the amount of labour that's involved, i think it's more worthwhile to just replace the entire top so you won't have to pay for the labour again when the rest of the top falls apart.

Not to add unnecessary comments to this thread, but here goes anyhow.

Dealer mechanics are not well versed on doing convertible top repair so they farm out that type of work and add their padding on top.

Your best bet is to get the part number for the rear window and shop around for the best price. Once you find the best price take the window and the TSB outlining the install to specialty shops and get quotes for install.
