^^^^DUDE!!! Chill out!! You're too sensitive. Nobody is bashing or not having any compassion or feel great to hear this. Everyone is compassionate, we just apply the use of it differently. I refuse to believe anyone in here is insensitive enough to feel good reading what happened. We just pointed out the mistakes the young men made, and hope others will learn, that is all. Just because we don't express the same way as you do that doesn't mean we don't agree Think about it.

What good does it do to keep bashing for his stupid fatal mistake.
Perhaps so that others will take 10 seconds per day to visually inspect their tires? There is no excuse for driving a car with tires that were that bald.

He won't be learning from his mistake, but I hope others will.

Yes, that's the hope.

However, like a few other people on here, I'm discouraged by the reaction people have of blaming the whole thing on the tires. The tires weren't driving the car. The tires didn't decide to overtake. There's no definite evidence that if his tires had more tread that he would have retained control of the car.

It was the decision-making and/or car control skill failure that created the incident and led to those two guys being dead. The wet road and slick tires were only factors that should have been part of the decision-making process, not direct causes that created the crash themselves.

so if my tires went bald, I should get the OEM bridgestone? I got major discount on falken and I was planning to replace with the falken FK452 once mine goes bald.

Makes me glad I have 255's on the rear and 215's on the front...
this has absolutely nothing to do with anything. Doesn't matter how wide or narrow your tires are. If they are bald, the rain water on the road won't channel away and your tire will be searching for traction on a puddle.

If you own an 00-03 model then the only tires that should be on the car are the Bridgestone S02's. Honda contracted Bridgestone to design those tires specifically for the S2000 and IMO they are the best tires for the job. Expensive? Yes. But if you can't afford the proper equipment for the car then you've already overextended yourself in the first place.

For those that don't know, or are new to their S2000, you have to ask specifically for the S02 made for the S2000 when buying your tires at most B&M's. If you just tell them you want S02's in the stock sizes you may very well end up with a Porsche tire.

606, even though I'm a huge fan of S02s (I think I'm set #6) I don't think they're the absolute best tire for all drivers in all climates/conditions. I think a lot of drivers would be much better off on a tire that does better in the rain but gives up some dry grip (F1 GS-D3, for example).

That's a real shame.

I too wonder about seatbelts, the passenger compartment seems mostly in tact, unless I'm just mising something. The video was very choppy for some reason.

This was EXACTLY the kind of person bridgestone was hoping would buy the car when they accepted that contract too. Not only do they get a big tire order, but they get the people who think that it is the best tire EVAR just because it came on the car.

I'm the first to admit that bridgestone makes a great tire, but the S02 is not the end all be all of S2000 tires.
