15 Hours in an S2000=Suicide!
Thanks for the invite Elistan, I read about your North Texas club about a week ago. I would like to join you guys for an event but I can't for the 4th. We've already made plans to go see Creedence Clearwater Revival in concert in Frisco with some friends. But I am definitely interested in some of your future events. Just let me know how to find out about them. Thanks, -Ben
Oh, one last thing. I have driven the S2000 several times before buying this one. But inthe past few days I've had a chance ofcourse to drive it much more often. I will say that this thing doesn't even sound like a car. Once it goes above 6000rpm, it's a total beast! I can't believe how this car sounds with just the stock exhaust. It like a mix between a sport bike, a V8, and an F1 car. Everytime I hear it, it just amazes me. Hell, it almost scares me like it's going to break or something.

Oh, one last funny thing. I picked up my wife from work for lunch today and she hadn't seen it yet because she didn't know where I parked in the parking lot. The first thing she said was "We are buying you a new wedding ring this weekend".
I just though that was pretty funny.

Congratulations on buying the perfect car in the perfect color.
Give a shout the next time you make your way into Houston and we'll have a meet in your honor.
Enjoy your car.

The car is all stock. No mods at all which is a very good quality in a used car.
Thanks for the invite also Joe, I'll be sure to let you know the next time I'm in Houston.

Just a couple of comments with regards to the S2000's truck capacity and it's capabilities as a long distance ride. I'm made a LOT of long distance trips on my motorcycles through the years. I'm talking three to four week trips covering between 6k and 8k miles. After that, the S2000 trunk looks positively spacious and the interior, luxurious!
I guess it's all in your point of view!

Drove this fantastic car from Balto to Nashville. Was supposed to take 12 hours but I made it in a little less than 11 (that's driving time not including stops for food etc). When I got there I could have gone for another 10 or 12 hours - didn't feel tired at all!
For me (5'7") the car is more comfortable than any other I've had, especially the driver's seat. Fits me perfectly (has to do that before I buy any car) with no back problems & very little fatigue. In my wife's Passat I sit for 45 minutes & my back starts killing me!
What tires me out is the type of driving. The stress on some local trips (like from Balto to DC) feels like I've been driving for 4 hours.
Give me the open (or relatively open) road & I can go all day.

Big Ben, did you have a temp license plate? Here is my story from a thread I wrote the other day:
Last Friday my wife & I flew to Washington, DC. Lil Raja's brother met us at the airport and gave us a ride to their house. My wife & loved the car, so we bought it & took off for the Blue Ridge Parkway.
We had a great time driving through the mountains! There's nothing like the sound of an S going through a tunnel at vtec with the Injen intake and Invidia exhaust. The car got lots of attention from everyone. A biker gave us a thumbs up, some kid leaned out of a car and took our picture and people every where told me what a nice car it was. We also got some bad attention.
Here's that story:
My wife is driving and we're stuck behind two slow pokes. We finally get a chance to pass one of them and the wife doesn't down shift. The passing area is not that big and Linda (wife) still has the car in 6th. I told her to shift to 3rd, but she just shifted to 5th. Anyway it's taking forever to pass and the double line is coming up and now two cars are coming at us. Linda is now past the slower car by one car length or more and we're getting into the double yellow and the cars are still coming. I kept wondering why she wasn't getting over (top is down, so no problem seeing), so I yelled at her to get over. We are now three car lengths ahead and she finally got over. We did cross the double yellow and the other cars coming at us probably slowed down, but none of us were close to death or anything like that. Linda hates passing anyone and she's always afraid to downshift. Linda usually is very safe, but she is not much of a passer.
Anyway, 15-20 minutes later we are still behind one slowpoke and we see a cop go by the other way. He sees us and turns around. He pulls us over and the car in front pulls over. The car in front realizes he's not in trouble and takes off. I told the officers that we just bought the car. I have the title and bill of sale. I explain to them that we just bought the car and are traveling back to Alabama with the car. They tell us that they got three 911 calls about us passing on double lines. I can't believe this! Three calls! 911? Maybe one call from a busy body, but three? I figure they're lying, but anyway they can't do anything because they didn't see it. Linda nor I ever admitted to anything. Well the cops take my info and go back to their car. They come back in a few minutes and give my wife a ticket for no tag. I said, "What are we supposed to do? We bought the car Friday afternoon and we'll be back in Alabama on Sunday and I'll buy a tag on Monday." They said they didn't know, but that we are supposed to have a tag. They were nice the whole time, but I thought this was ridiculous, and I figure that since they couldn't give us a ticket for improper passing they would give us a ticket for no tag.
On Monday I talked to the tag office in Alabama and they thought getting a ticket was crazy. I then called Hillsville, VA where Linda received the ticket. The lady there thought the ticket was crazy too. Then she looked up the code & she said it had no provision for paying the ticket my mail. She said to write the judge a letter explaining everything and that he would probably throw the ticket out.
I sent the letter & copies of everything off yesterday. I also looked up the code & here is what it said:
46.2-606. Notice of change of address.
