In your dreams! I just don't see Honda making this engine that powerful with a lower redline.
dont you think that if the hp goes from 240 to 260, the torque might go from 153 to 170? its not unreasonable by any means...

man --- i just post what a dealer told me ---- take it for what its worth. part of the fun is the anticipation of what is to come. chill, yo

All wheel drive!!! I'm getting one. Speed Freak, where did you get this info? Do you think they will have some kind of bias knob like on the STi? To adjust the output from front to back. It will make the car more controllable at the limit, which is kind of a problem now. I'm placing an order right away.

Bob Hall, an auto-jounalist for Wheels Magazine and the "Father of the Miata" posted this on another forum-

"I'm getting real curious as to how Honda is going to market the 2.2 litre version of the S2000 when it goes on sale late this year. Honda has already filed technical specs on the 2004 model year S2000 and the S2000 2.2 with Japan's Unyusho (Ministry of Transportation) and the information's confusing, to put it mildly.

2003 S2000 (Japanese spec)
250hp at 8300rpm
22.2kg/m at 7500rpm

2004 S2000 (Japanese spec)
250hp at 8300rpm
22.2kg/m at 7500rpm

2004 S2000 2.2 (Japanese spec)
240hp at 7700rpm
22.5kg/m at 7000rpm

Kinda makes you wonder why they bothered? The only other bit of new information the data contains is that the wheel and tire size has been upped to 17 inches, with 215/45 ZRs at the front and 245/40 ZRs at the rear, replacing the 205/55 front and 225/50 16-inchers at the rear. "

It looks to me like he is mixing apples and oranges by quoting the JDM engine specs for 2003.

does anyone realize that the S is ALREADY in the low 5s? any improvements may improve those times...

although, admittedly from what i have read, FI S's pulling 300+ hp doesnt help the 0-60 except for making it easier to achieve the low 5's. strange...

hey xviper --- again, take it for what its worth. noone said its set in stone...

Are engine specs between USM and JDM different on the 2002 and erlier models?
